👨‍🚒👩‍✈️On Wednesday 10 June 2026, communities across Australia will come together for Thank a First Responder Day, a national moment to recognise the people who keep us safe and the families who stand beside them.

In support, Kadina Town Hall will light up teal tonight.

Recent years have seen first responders playing increasingly critical roles in the safety and security of the Australian community, in addition to the day-to-day operational duties they undertake.

Through all of this, first responders continue to band together to help the community in their time of need.

To all those who carry out these vital duties on the Copper Coast, we give our sincerest gratitude. 👨‍🚒👩‍✈️

ABNORMALLY HIGH TIDES which may lead to sea water flooding of low-lying coastal areas are possible about the Spencer Gulf, Gulf St Vincent and northern Kangaroo Island. Tides are likely to rise well above the normal high tide mark during this afternoon and evenings high tides.

Elevated sea levels have since peaked about western and southeastern coasts.

As we take time to reflect and learn across Reconciliation Week, Copper Coast Council would like to express our gratitude for sharing in the opportunity to bring the Nharangga Dreaming story, 'Winda the Owl' to life for FLAME Festival last month.

Thank you to project lead Tania Wanganeen and cultural facilitators and artists Sonya Rankine, Shereen Rankine, Takari Owen and Tshara Rigney who so generously shared their knowledge and creativity.
Thanks also go out to the youngest performers on the night, students from Central Yorke School Point Pearce campus, who performed the Wawi dance and took on the roles of the baby curlews in the 'Winda the Owl' story. What an amazing night it was.

We look forward to continued collaboration with our First Nations communities.
