Looking for a diverse role making a difference to the community you live in?

We are hiring a Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) Attendant.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with other staff to ensure the safe and effective processing of waste materials, the maintenance of the RRC facility, and the delivery of high-quality customer service in accordance with relevant legislation, environmental standards, and Council policies.

The successful applicant will also be required to assist the Animal Control & Waste Officer in the handling of animals and the maintenance of the holding facilities so an understanding of dog behaviour and a genuine interest in animal welfare is desirable.

Fleurieu Civil and Construction, on behalf of SA Water, will be undertaking works at Pine Forest Rd THRINGTON for the purpose of water mains installation.

🕝Works are expected to commence on Monday, 14 September 2026, with an anticipated completion date of April, 2027.

These works will involve temporary traffic and pedestrian management-please see attached images for planned control measures.

While every effort being made to minimise any inconvenience throughout the duration of the project, some disruption may still occur.

Copper Coast Mayor Roslyn Talbot will serve as Deputy Chair at Northern and Yorke Local Government Association, following the election of the Association’s leadership team at its Annual General Meeting on Friday, 28th August 2026.

Mayor Rodney Reid has been re-elected as Chair of the Association for a further two-year term, providing continued leadership for the region's collective local government advocacy and collaboration.
Mayor Reid will be supported by two elected Deputy Chairs, Mayor Roslyn Talbot of the Copper Coast Council and Mayor Stephen McCarthy of the District Council of Mount Remarkable.

Mayor Talbot said the position would afford opportunities for continued advocacy and collaboration.
“It is an honour to be elected to this leadership position,” Mayor Talbot said.
“I have a close working relationship with Mayor Reid, and look forward to supporting his leadership for the mutual benefit of our residents. The N&YLGA is an integral platform for our region to foster a collective voice, and advocate on the issues that matter.”

The Northern and Yorke Local Government Association represents 15 member councils across one of South Australia's most diverse regional areas. Through collaboration, coordination and regional advocacy, the Association works to support the wealth, wellbeing and social cohesion of communities across Northern and Yorke.

Pease be advised, Water Main Extension Works will commence on Ocean View Drive and Gwendolen Street, North Beach from Thursday, 3 September.

The works will be completed in stages 3 – 4 September and 9– 11 September 2026.

Local access will be maintained at all times throughout the duration of the works.

These works are necessary to extend the water supply network and improve infrastructure within the area.
Every effort will be made to minimise disruption; however, there may be some temporary inconveniences, including increased construction traffic, noise, raised dust and changes to traffic conditions.

🚧TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - WALLAROO🚧

Please be advised Jones Street, Wallaroo will be closed for road stabilisation
works will be undertaken on Jones Street between Charles Terrace and Heritage Drive from Wednesday, 2 September.

The works will include the replacement of the existing kerbing and full-width road stabilisation, with the aim of improving the safety and long-term durability of this section of Jones Street.
A signed detour will be in place to safely guide motorists around the work area.

Works are expected to be completed by mid-October.

SA Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) have opened applications for Round 56 of the Active Club Program (ACP).

Eligible organisations can now apply for up to $3,000 to support the purchase of essential equipment, uniforms, positive menstrual health initiatives and small-scale infrastructure upgrades.

Active recreation, sport and recreational fishing clubs can now apply for their share of more than $1.4 million through the latest round of the Active Club Program. 🙌

💰 Clubs can receive up to $3,000 to support:

🔨 Small-scale infrastructure upgrades

The funding is designed to help clubs create more opportunities for South Australians to get active, get involved and feel part of their community.
