Next Monday 15th June Yorke Peninsula Learning & Care in collaboration with Kadina Child Care Centre will be taking part in Accidental Counsellor Training at Arthurton Sports Club, 9am - 12.30pm. We have a handful of fully funded spots available for community members working in early childhood roles to join in!

This training is tailored to those working in early childhood and family-focussed services. The training focuses on active listening, effective communication, recognising when someone may need support, and responding with empathy while maintaining personal boundaries. It is designed for anyone who may find themselves supporting others in their workplace, community or everyday life.

📚Tomorrow at 12pm we are participating in National Simultaneous Storytime. Children, parents, educators, and library lovers across Australia will come together to read Luna Roo at the same time — celebrating the joy of reading, storytelling and connection.

⚽Luna Roo follows the spirited kangaroo Luna and her friends as they chase their soccer dreams across the outback, blending action, teamwork and fun to inspire young readers.

A snapshot of what we have been up to lately 📸

Our learners across the centre have been busy exploring all sorts of fun, messy, sensory play including rainbow rice, pasta and gloop!

From sensory ocean play filled with scooping, pouring, and discovering sea creatures and shells, to carefully building tall towers with natural blocks, the children have been developing creativity, problem-solving, and fine motor skills through play.

The dramatic play area turned into a busy hair salon, where our budding hairdressers styled, brushed, and cared for their “clients” with lots of laughter and conversation 💇‍♀️💛

We also enjoyed hands-on sand play, experimenting with tunnels and containers while learning about movement and cause and effect.

🐝 World Bee Day 🐝
There was a buzz of excitement around the centre yesterday, as the children celebrated world bee day.
The children explored real honeycomb, watched and listened as one educator dressed in her beekeeper suit, created beautiful honeycomb paintings and enjoyed exciting bee-themed tray play activities.

What a wonderful day of discovery, creativity and learning about the important role bees play in our world! 🌼🐝💛

What a day! 🌟

Yesterday we attended the Career Roadshow to showcase all of our upcoming job and study opportunities, along with our exciting new plans.
Thankyou to everybody that stopped by to have a chat, it was lovely to meet and talk to so many in our community.
A huge shout out goes to the organsiers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event happen. It was a wonderfully organised day! Thankyou for having us 🩵
