Have an idea that could draw a crowd to regional WA?

Tourism WA’s Regional Events Scheme is now open for 2027–28, supporting events that bring communities together and draw visitors to regional WA.

This funding includes $250,000 dedicated to the Regional Aboriginal Events Scheme (RAES) to support events that showcase and celebrate Aboriginal activities and experiences.

If you’re planning something special between 1 July 2027 and 30 June 2028, you can apply for funding from $5,000 to $40,000.

Applications close 5.00pm Friday, 24 July 2026.

Have you spotted this year’s National Reconciliation Week street banners? 🖤💛❤️

From 27 May to 3 June, National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to reflect on our shared histories, recognise Aboriginal culture and achievements, and consider how we can contribute to reconciliation.

Across WA, hundreds of street banners are now flying, supported by organisations and local governments who want to actively show their support for reconciliation. We are proud to support the project in partnership with Reconciliation WA.

This year’s banners feature artwork by Western Australian Aboriginal artist Melissa Sunfly, a proud Kukatja/Ngardi woman, with her work on display in communities right across the State.

This National Volunteer Week is a chance to recognise the people who keep community sport going across WA. The coaches, organisers and helpers who give their time and make it all work.

Wheelchair Footy Come & Try sessions running every Friday night at 6:00pm at the Goldfields Basketball Centre.

• Sports wheelchairs will be provided free of charge

This is a fantastic opportunity for new participants to experience wheelchair footy in a welcoming and supported environment.

The program is designed to increase participation and retention for girls aged 13 to 17 by backing projects that create safe, welcoming and empowering environments.
