What a way to wrap up the 2026 Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year Competition! 🏆

This year's State Final really stepped things up, with our finalists taking on a huge range of challenges including a timed drone flying trial, butchering and sausage making, working dogs, excavating, welding and plenty more.

A competition like this wouldn't be possible without the incredible support of our sponsors, module providers and judges, who generously contribute their time, knowledge, equipment and expertise. Their support helped us deliver an incredible prize pool valued at over $60,000 for this year's competitors.

Congratulations to William Lyon, our 2026 Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year!

After a huge day of competition at Quercus Park on Saturday, William took out the top spot and the 2026 title.

The countdown is on to the 2026 Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year State Final! 💪💪

This Saturday, 10 finalists will put their skills and knowledge to the test across a range of challenges, all competing for the title of Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year.

Come along to Quercus Park, Carrick this Saturday to watch the action as our finalists battle it out throughout the day!

A warm Tassie welcome to Katharina and Flavia, our Rural Youth exchangees from Austria and Switzerland! 🌾

They've been busy travelling around the state with some of our Rural Youth members, experiencing Tasmanian life, agriculture and plenty of Rural Youth hospitality along the way.

One of the best parts of Rural Youth is the connections and friendships made with people from all over the world.

With the Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year State Final coming up on the 22nd August, we wanted to take a moment to thank the fantastic module judges who supported our Run-Offs last month.

Meet Toby and William!

These two competitors took on the Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year Run-Offs last month, and while neither are Rural Youth members, they've both returned to compete multiple times.

It's fantastic to see such a diverse group of competitors getting involved, with entrants from a range of backgrounds coming together to challenge themselves, learn new skills and meet like-minded people.

Congratulations to Toby and William, and best of luck to William as he heads into the State Final on 22 August.
