You could hear the roar of “GOAL!!!” Cheering from the classrooms as we celebrated National Simultaneous Storytime at noon yesterday. This event connects children with books, authors and illustrations. This year’s book choice sent a message of drawing on your inner strength when others doubt you, as well as cementing a place for girls and women in sport.

Another fabulous night in Woolgoolga at the Compass Festival this time with our 14 recorder group students! Students enjoyed a 4 hour rehearsal with 150 other recorder students and an orchestra. Well done on your focus and commitment to making the recorder sound beautiful. We’ve included a before and after concert photo.

It was fantastic to host our Round 2 PSSA Boys Touch Football home game at Wherrett Park.

It was great to see so many MPS students, families and staff there supporting the boys and creating such a positive atmosphere.

Unfortunately, MPS went down today, however we congratulate Evans River on their win and wish them all the best in the next round.

A huge congratulations to all of our boys who represented Maclean Public School with pride, teamwork and resilience. You should all be extremely proud of your efforts and the way you represented both yourselves and our school.

The boys are already looking forward to sharing their skills and supporting students in next term’s MPS lunchtime touch football competition.

On Monday, 20 students from the MPS choir participated in the Compass Festival all day in Woolgoolga. It was an early start, and after four hours of rehearsals, the 300 strong student choir from more than 30 schools on the North coast performed 5 songs. Congratulations on working hard all year to get to this performance! Next stop - Opera House in August!

Please note that due to the recent weather and significant rainfall, the Northern Rivers Cross Country Carnival scheduled for this Friday 22nd May at Corndale Public School has been relocated to 𝙃𝙚𝙥𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙠, 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙝. These details have be emailed to families.

Aspiring Writers
Our aspiring writers group are excited to enter their writing in the local competition Stories from the Clarence Valley. We are currently working on creating a text with the theme 'under the bridge'. Everyone at MPS is welcome to enter. Please see the image for more information and see Mrs Albert or Ms Delaney if you would like us to enter your writing for you.
