๐Ÿ’™ Today, we acknowledge and celebrate the many different ways fatherhood can be experienced ๐Ÿ’™

To all dads, stepdads, grandfathers, father figures, mentors, and those who offer care, encouragement, and guidance to others โ€” thank you for the difference you make.

We also recognise that this day can bring many different emotions. For some, it is a time of celebration. For others, it may bring memories of someone special, reflect a difficult relationship, or simply be a challenging day. Whatever you are feeling today is valid.

No matter what today means to you, please remember that you don't have to face it alone.

If you or someone you know needs support, Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Call **13 11 14**, text **0477 13 11 14**, or access online chat support through the Lifeline website.

Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone.

While everyone's experience is different, thoughts of su***de can occur during periods of significant distress, life change, loss, isolation, financial pressure, relationship difficulties and many other challenges.

It's a common misconception that only certain people experience suicidal thoughts, or that they only affect people with a diagnosed mental health condition.

The reality is that suicidality is complex and can affect people from all walks of life.

Understanding this can help reduce stigma and make it easier for people to seek support when they need it. To learn more about su***de stigma, visit our Support Toolkit: lifeline.org.au/su***de

If you're experiencing suicidal thoughts, or you're concerned about someone you care about, support is available. Call 13 11 14, text 0477 13 11 14 or chat at lifeline.org.au/chat.

This workshop is the first step in DV-alert's Assessment Pathway, preparing learners for further training and leading to a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

It's ideal for frontline workers in health, allied health, education, and community services sectors, as well as anyone who works or volunteers in a role where they may come into contact with people experiencing domestic and family violence.

Su***de is a topic we don't talk about enough as a society.

Stigma and misconceptions about su***de can make it harder for people to speak openly about what they're experiencing, seek support, or feel understood when they're struggling.

Stigma doesn't just affect people experiencing suicidal thoughts. It can also affect family, friends and loved ones, leaving them unsure of how to help or worried about saying the wrong thing.

Building understanding and challenging common myths about su***de can help create safer conversations, reduce stigma and encourage help-seeking.

Learn more about su***de stigma, myths and misconceptions at outoftheshadows.org.au

If you're experiencing suicidal thoughts, or you're concerned about someone you care about, support is available. Call 13 11 14, text 0477 13 11 14 or chat at lifeline.org.au/chat.

Why We Walk

Every year, we lose more than 3,000 Australians to su***de.
They're our family, our mates, our workmates, our neighbours โ€” people we love. The grief left behind ripples through everyone who knew them, and it's a reminder of just how much connection, kindness and hope really matter.

This September, we're walking to shine a light on mental health. We're walking to break down the stigma that stops people from asking for help. We're walking to remember and honour the people we've lost. And we're walking for everyone out there who's struggling right now.

When we keep the conversation going, we save lives โ€” and we make sure no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
Come and join us for the Out of the Shadows Walk. Stand with our community in support, remembrance and hope.

Register today and choose Lifeline South East so your fundraising stays local. ๐Ÿ’›
