What if your favourite story had a little upgrade? πŸ‘€

We went searching through the library to find the VOX Book version of one of our regular storytime favourites.

Our Storytime with Sound Books combine the joy of reading with built-in audio, so you can read along while listening to the story come to life. πŸ”ŠπŸ“–

We love it, do you?

We were absolutely delighted to host a team from The State Library of New South Wales at the Mudgee Library this afternoon.
Students from Hargraves Public School and the local home educators group got to participate in an interactive historical presentation all about the early navigators of the Australian coastline, and hear about the history of First Nations people who lived along the coastline.
The students even got to view original historical artefacts, like a pocket globe, from the State Library’s collection!
Thank you to the team for bringing β€˜Far Out: Treasures to the Bushβ€˜ to us.

The State Library of New South Wales is celebrating their 200th birthday. As part of that their 'The Library that made me' project has gone big! The project celebrates the power of libraries and their enduring place in the hearts of communities accross NSW. It saw 10 photographers travel across regional and metropolitan NSW to capture images and stories of library users. Our Library was one of those featured, and now some of those images are on a billboard display outside of the State Library on Macquarie Street! It's well worth a visit if you haven to be in Sydney.
In addition to the display, an anniversary book has been published; covering the State Library's evolution, remarkable collection, and its people. The book is currently available to borrow from our collection.
If you're interested in finding out more about how writers have been supported or influenced by libraries, why not attend the Mudgee Readers' Festival session at the Town Hall Theatre this Sunday.
