🎆 Make safety part of your Territory Day celebrations!
⚠️ Fireworks are fun, but they can be dangerous if they’re not handled properly. If you’re planning to light your own fireworks this Territory Day, keep these key safety tips in mind:

• Clear away dry grass, leaves and mulch before you start.
• Keep water, a hose or sand close by in case something goes wrong.
• Follow the safety instructions on every label.
• Light one firework at a time and step back immediately.
• Never light fireworks under trees or near buildings.
• Keep spectators at least 10 metres away from where you’re lighting them.
• Soak used fireworks to prevent flare ups.
• Supervise children - kids under 12 should never handle fireworks.
• Keep pets indoors where they feel safe.
