Across the Territory, incorporated associations bring people together, strengthen communities and create change in ways that can be felt every day.

In Katherine and across the Big Rivers region, KWILS - Katherine Women's Information & Legal Service Inc is one of them.

KWILS supports women and gender-diverse people with free legal information, advice and representation, helping people understand their rights, make informed choices and have their voices heard.
Their work is grounded in local relationships, local knowledge and a strong connection to the community they serve.

Behind that work are people like Natasha Reece, KWILS Board Member and Treasurer, whose knowledge, experience and commitment help strengthen the organisation and support its direction.

It’s people like Natasha, and associations like KWILS, that show just how much incorporated associations contribute to Territory life.

They connect people, strengthen communities and help make the Territory a place people are proud to call home.

That’s .

Incorporated associations are part of everyday Territory life.

From sporting clubs and community groups to cultural organisations, charities and industry bodies, they bring people together, employ staff, engage local businesses and help make the Territory a great place to live.

For many groups, becoming incorporated provides the structure to grow, access funding and continue their work into the future.

Good governance helps make that possible too, supporting strong decision-making, clear responsibilities and sustainable organisations.

Learn more about incorporated associations, why they matter and the support available to help them thrive: https://business.nt.gov.au/news/incorporated-associations-helping-build-stronger-territory-communities

Across the coming weeks, we’ll be celebrating some of the incorporated associations making a difference in the Territory.

If your association is part of the story, share what you do using .
