A big reminder of how dangerous lithium-ion batteries can be, even small devices like a phone or a v**e. Always ensure that you charge e-scooters and e-bikes outside and if there is any damage on or around the battery casing be extra cautious.

DFES firefighters have responded to 64 fires this year linked to lithium-ion batteries, while they are generally safe if purchased from trusted retailers and handled responsibly, DFES advice is to regularly check for signs of physical damage, overheating and make sure to charge devices away from flammable items such as beds or couches.

Head to the DFES website to learn more about lithium-ion battery safety: https://tinyurl.com/2p9n588b

Ok everyone, we are now officially back to ORANGE Cyclone Watch and Act.

This means you are no longer required to Stay Indoors and you are allowed to move around.

Please understand there are still weather conditions around and there may be hazards not yet identified so move around with caution.
Water on the roads will still present hazards while driving.
Storm water drains are NOT appropriate play areas so please kids, please stay out of storm water drains.

Check EmergencyWA and BOM for further info and check Main Roads for road closure info (it still reads as the road to Karratha is closed) please don’t drive on closed roads as they are closed for good reason and are not safe until assessed and reopened by Main Roads.

Stay safe all and reach out on 132500 if you need us to assist, we are here and on standby for you.
