Influenza (the flu) is a common viral infection that affects people of all ages.
While it may be a mild disease for some, it can also cause serious sickness and may even lead to hospitalisation, even in healthy people.
Getting an Influenza vaccine every year from a health professional, is the safest and most effective way to protect yourself and others from influenza. The flu changes every year, so the vaccine changes too, this is why you need a 'flu shot' every year.
Everyone 6 months and over is recommended to get an influenza vaccine each year. The flu vaccine protects you, but it also can help protect those around you. The Influenza vaccine injection does not contain a live virus so you cannot get the flu from the vaccination.
Talk to your GP or health service for more information.

The competition was fierce, the laughs were loud, and the school spirit was even louder!
As part of Reconciliation Week and this year’s theme “All In.” Our staff vs student netball game brought everyone together in the spirit of connection, teamwork, and community.
A huge thank you to all staff and students who took part, supported from the sidelines and helped make the event such a positive and memorable occasion.
It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved showing great sportsmanship and having fun together.
We’d also like to thank Holly from the South West Indigenous Network for joining us, and for the generous donation of new netballs from Origin.
Your support and contribution are greatly appreciated by our whole school community.
Events like these remind us that Reconciliation is about coming together, learning from one another, and being All In as a school community.
