SANDBAGS ... SANDBAGS ... SANDBAGS !!!

Hi Friends,

With the impending wet weather we have been receiving lots of enquiries about where to get sandbags. Please see below locations where you can get sandbags over the weekend.

Parafield Gardens - North Pines Football Club, Andrew Smith Dve

St Kilda - 2 Beach Road

Para Hills - Para Hills Community Hub, 22 Wilkinson Road

PLEASE NOTE, the above locations are self serve SES Sandbag supply boxes. They are filled with empty sandbags only. We believe that Salisbury Council have arranged to deliver truck loads of sand to these locations so that members of the public can fill their own sandbags.

Salisbury Council have also arranged for sandbags and sand to be available from 61 Research road, Pooraka on Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 5pm.

Stay safe everyone and remember, we are here to help if you need. Call us on 132500 for assistance.

This weekend is set to be giving us some pretty heavy rainfall. Please be prepared by clearing your gutters and downpipes and securing all loose objects outside your home.

We will be on shift 24/7 and if you need us, call 132500 and we’ll come and help you out.

Stay safe everyone.

Here’s the updated Flood Watch area in South Australia. This image shows just how much of the state is covered in the Bureau of Meteorology Flood Watch issued today.

Yep, that’s right, pretty much the whole state! So, it’s important for all of us to be prepared.

The highest rainfall totals are forecast over North East Pastoral district during today. However, rainfall is forecast to extend southwards from Friday and over the weekend. Accumulated rainfall totals will be significant.

What can you do to be prepared and stay safe?
> Where it is safe to do so, clear gutters, downpipes and drains to prevent water damage to your home or property
> Check whether you need sandbags. If your property is prone to flooding, SES sandbag pod locations are listed on the SES website: https://www.ses.sa.gov.au/incidents-and-warnings/about-sa-ses-sandbag-locations
> Never drive, ride or walk through floodwater.
> Keep children well away from floodwater, creeks and storm drains.
> If you’re travelling, ensure you have adequate food and water for the trip. Visit the South Australia Police website for more information about holiday and remote travel safety: www.police.sa.gov.au/your-safety/crime-prevention-and-security/holiday-and-remote-travel-safety
> Take extra care, drive to the conditions, and adhere to road closures. You can check road closures via SA Infrastructure and Transport TrafficSA website: www.traffic.sa.gov.au
> Check on friends, family and neighbours during and after this rain event to ensure they’re safe and doing OK

The SA State Emergency Service is proud to celebrate International Volunteer Day on 5 December — a day to recognise the vital role volunteers play in supporting communities and tackling global challenges.

This year’s theme, “Every Contribution Matters,” reminds us that every act of volunteering — big or small — helps build a stronger, safer and more connected world.

This IVD also marks the official launch of the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY2026), shining a spotlight on the powerful impact volunteering has on a sustainable future.

Today, we say a huge thank you to our incredible SES volunteers for their dedication and service — and to all volunteers across South Australia, Australia and around the world. 💛🧡

Last Saturday Stuart ( aka Stuie ), a beloved 16 year veteran of Salisbury SES, married the love of his life Jess in a beautiful ceremony at Glen Ewin estate in the Adelaide hills. 🤵‍♂️👰‍♀️

A bunch of Stuie's crew mates were lucky enough to be in attendance to celebrate the union of this lovely couple.

Please join the crew at Salisbury SES in congratulating Stuie and Jess on their marriage. We all wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness and good health 🧡🧡🧡

Last night our crews went off site to get in some chainsaw training.

Our great mates from German Club of Elizabeth Inc invited us to come and cut up some felled trees on their property. In return the club fed us all a delicious meal of kranskys, sauerkraut and chips 😋

This was a great opportunity for all our crew to get some valuable hands on training and keep our skill levels up.

Well done team, you all did an awesome job 🙌

The crew at Salisbury are devastated to learn of the passing of Cameron.

Cameron has been a stalwart of the service, having served most recently at Gawler Unit and previously at Salisbury and Edinburgh prior to that.

Known and loved by all for his cheeky smile and mischievous sense of humour, we are all grieving the loss of a great friend and crewmate.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Camerons family during this difficult time.

RIP Cameron, we love you mate 🧡🧡🧡
