Here’s a summary of the news from tonight’s Ordinary Council Meeting:

🙌 Councillors tonight elected Cr Russell Webb as Mayor and Cr Jeff Bud as Deputy Mayor, following the conduct of elections.

🤝 Councillors tonight adopted the Terms of Reference for the Mara Ngali Partnership Committee and endorsed Council representatives to the Committee.

🚵 Council adopted the Tamworth Central Sports Fields Masterplan 2026 which will be used to guide planning and investment within the precinct.

🚗 Councillors tonight noted the successful implementation of key initiatives under the Tamworth Regional Parking Strategy.

🪙 Councillors tonight noted correspondence from the Local Government Grants Commission advising that Council's Financial Assistance Grants allocation for 2026/2027 is estimated to increase by 5.6 per cent.

LAST WEEK TO REGISTER YOUR EOI - COFFEE VAN!☕✨🎉

We are seeking expressions of interest for mobile coffee vendors at events and activations held by Tamworth Regional Gallery and Tamworth Regional Museums over the next 12 months.

The experienced vendors should be able to support a range of cultural and community events, with the first opportunity being the opening weekend of the 6th Tamworth Textile Triennial on 19 and 20 September 2026.

Additional opportunities may include major events such as the Powerstation Museum Birthday Weekend on 8 and 9 November 2026 and the Tamworth Country Music Festival from 15 to 24 January 2027, among others.
