This morning, members of the Legacy Club of Wagga Wagga were extremely appreciative to receive a generous donation from the committee members of the RAAF Base Wagga Beaufighter Combined Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess.

We were honoured to welcome WGCDR Richard Poole, Chairman WOFF Ivan Petrovic, and FLTLT Greg Young, who proudly presented the donation to Legacy on behalf of the Mess.

The funds were generously raised during a ‘Dining In Night’, with members coming together not only to enjoy an evening of camaraderie, but also to support the important work of Legacy.

On behalf of the Legacy Club of Wagga Wagga, our beneficiaries and volunteers, thank you for your incredible generosity and continued support.

Your donation will help us continue our commitment to supporting the families of veterans throughout our community.

Legacy Week began as a time to show community care for children who had lost a parent in war.
Today, that same care reaches children whose lives have been shaped by a parent’s service.
Unlike other support services available to veterans, we are the only organisation that supports and cares for the families after the veteran has passed or become incapacitated due to their service.
We are not Government funded so your donation this Legacy Week tells a child of a veteran: “You matter. We see you. You’re not facing this alone.”
You can either purchase yourself some nice Legacy merchandise or make a donation at one of our local shopping centers throughout Wagga Wagga, Berrigan, Cootamundra, Deniliquin, Finley, Junee, Lockhart, Narrandera, Temora, Tumbarumba and Young, or make a donation online at legacy.com.au/donate

It’s always an honour to support Legacy Week to raise funds and awareness for the families of our veterans.

This week I joined Sergeant Moore at the Sturt Mall to help with fundraising activities.

There’s still time to buy a badge, a Legacy Bear or make a donation, so if you can help, please visit a stall or go to the Legacy Week appeal at https://www.legacy.com.au/legacy-week/

Lest we forget.

💙 Legacy Week 2026 is here! 🙌

Across the country, volunteers are out in their communities selling iconic Legacy badges, bears and collecting donations to support veterans’ families.

Funds raised during Legacy Week help provide essential services for the families we care for - personalised support through financial aid, advocacy, education and development opportunities, emotional and practical care.

If you see our volunteers out and about (or our Legacy Bears!) stop by, say hello and buy a badge or a bear to support veterans’ families.

And, if you can’t make it to one of our stalls this week, you can still show your support by making an online donation: legacy.com.au/donate

📸 We’d also love to see how you’re supporting Legacy Week! Share your photos, tag us, and help spread the word so more Australians know how they can get involved.

Legacy Week is Legacy’s national fundraising and awareness campaign, dedicated to supporting the families of veterans who have given their life or health in defence of our nation. This year Legacy Week will run from Sunday 30 August to Saturday 5 September 2026, with our iconic Badge Day on Friday 4 September.

The National Launch of Legacy Week will be held on Monday 31 August 2026 in the Sculpture Garden at the Australian War Memorial Canberra. The Launch Ceremony will be followed by a reception at the AWM, proudly sponsored by Marsh.

Join us in honouring the service and sacrifice of our veterans by purchasing a Legacy badge, making a donation, or sharing Legacy’s message during Legacy Week. Together, we can make a difference for veteran families.
