🕯️ Candlelight Vigil and Moment of Silence for Nepal❤️❤️

Our hearts are shattered by the devastating floods in Nepal, which have taken many precious lives and left countless families grieving. Among those we have lost are Nepalese citizens, tourists, and pilgrims from different countries—each one a beloved member of a family whose absence will be felt forever.

In this time of unimaginable pain, the Riverina Nepalese Community invites everyone—Nepalese and all other communities—to come together for a candlelight vigil and moment of silence.

📅 Date: 1 September 2026
🕠 Time: 5:30 pm
📍 Venue: Victory Memorial Gardens, Wagga

Let us stand side by side, light a candle, share the sorrow, and honour every beautiful life lost in this heartbreaking tragedy. Though we may be far from Nepal, our hearts are with our homeland and with every grieving family.

Your presence will be a symbol of love, unity, prayer, and hope during this darkest time.

May every departed soul rest in eternal peace, and may the grieving families find strength and comfort. 🕯️🙏

One Humanity, Many Faiths – Supporting Mental Wellbeing

You’re warmly invited to join us for One Humanity, Many Faiths, a free community conference bringing together representatives from diverse faith communities to explore how spirituality, belonging and connection can support mental wellbeing.

Held in conjunction with the United Nations International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief (22 August), this event affirms the importance of respect, understanding and peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths and beliefs. The United Nations recognises that interfaith and intercultural dialogue can play a positive role in combating intolerance, hatred and violence.

The conference offers an opportunity to hear from different faith perspectives, take part in respectful dialogue, and reflect on the shared values that help strengthen compassion, resilience and connection within our community.

Whether you belong to a faith community, are exploring spirituality, or are simply interested in learning more, everyone is welcome.

Every five years, the Australian Bureau of Statistics counts every person and household in Australia.

This is called the Census of Population and Housing.
The Census form asks questions about your age, country of birth, cultural background, living situation, work and education.

Census data is used to inform decisions about transport, schools, health care, infrastructure and business.

It also helps plan local services for individuals, families and communities.

The Census is compulsory.

Everyone in Australia on Census night must be included on a Census form.

Do you need help filling in your Census form?

Officers from the Australian Bureau of Statistics will visit the Multicultural Council of Wagga Wagga (18 Station Place) to sit with you and guide you through the form step by step.

There will be some in-language support provided within these sessions (Arabic, Burmese, Dari, Farsi, Hindi, Yazidi - Kurmanji, and Tibetan)
