Congratulations to Egelabra first year jackeroo Charlie Wall on a fantastic result at the AGFORCE Merino Sheep & Nutrien Wool Merino Fleece Young Judges competition, held at the QMSSA State Sheep Show during the 2026 Longreach Show. 👏🐑

Charlie took out:
🏆 1st Place – Merino Fleece Judging
🥈 2nd Place – Merino Sheep Judging

Reliving a great day at Egelabra with a bumper photo gallery from our Open Day.
✅It was wonderful to welcome so many people onto the property and share a glimpse into our operation- from wool and nutrition through to the infrastructure that supports it all. ✅The day was filled with great conversations, plenty of interest and a strong enthusiasm for the Merino industry.

We are going on a road trip to Queensland!

We’re looking forward to heading to two great Queensland sheep events this May! 🐑

📍 Longreach Show – 22nd & 23rd May
We’ll have 12 young rams on display:
• 6 Poll Merinos
• 6 Horned Merinos

📍 Isisford Sheep & Wool Show – 30th May
We’ll also have 5 quality 2024 drop rams on display.

A great opportunity to catch up with fellow producers, talk sheep and showcase the Egelabra breeding program. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there!

A huge congratulations to Brett Smith, “Tralee”, on taking out Grand Champion Fleece at the St George Show. A fantastic result and great reflection of hard work and quality sheep combining for top-end wool.

Check out our hotly contested Grand Champion Fleece from ‘Tralee’ and Brett Smith! The prize was donated by Nutrien Ag Solutions - St George and our Judge was Bob Tully from Nutrien! What a win! 🐑

Egelabra Merino Stud is looking for a Jackaroo to join our team. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a progressive livestock operation while working in a supportive team environment.

✅ Must have:
🚗 Current driver’s licence
💪 Can-do attitude
🤝 Team player
🌱 Positive and proactive outlook

⭐ Desirable:
🐑 Some farm experience or industry-relevant knowledge

The role involves a variety of duties working with livestock and general farm operations.

We’re still buzzing after the Egelabra Open Day ⚡️
What a fantastic day it was!

With approximately 300 people in attendance, it was a great show of support and made for a truly enjoyable day.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the effort to attend—we loved having you here. The genuine interest and great conversations right across the day made it all the more worthwhile.
