Congratulations to the April 2026 Business of the Month; Elders Insurance Whyalla.
Elders Insurance Whyalla has serviced Whyalla and surrounds for over 20 years from the local main street.
Purchased by Simone and Leigh Beaty back in 2021, This little franchise has weathered it all in the last 5 years — pandemics, extreme weather events, two major office renovations (due to the being unable to social distance as an essential service and to support portfolio and staff growth), complete system overhauls, rapid technology changes and constant global disruptions.
With rising costs and inflation testing businesses and families every day it’s safe to say insurance is a hard sell.
Yet through every challenge thrown their way, the team has remained positive and continued adapting, upskilling, and growing stronger. All while keeping pace with ever changing industry standards. The team specialise in business, fleet, transit, builders warranty and personal line insurance products.
With many insurance companies turning to an online only presence, keeping a brick-and-mortar store and local families employed is at the heart of it all. Simone prides herself on reinvesting in the Whyalla community by prioritising local trades, suppliers, and services wherever possible. Its all about keeping Whyalla’s money in Whyalla.
Elders Insurance Whyalla wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every past, present and potential client for continuing to support their franchise as without you they couldn’t be able to give back to the many local community groups and initiatives they support.
Your kind words go a long way.

Whyalla is going to Switzerland.
Five students from our city have qualified for the H2 Grand Prix World Finals - an international competition where student teams build and race hydrogen-powered cars against the best in the world. They earned their place. They're representing Australia. And they're ours.
Whyalla Business & Tourism is proud to have met this incredible team today, and we're putting our money where our mouth is - we've just donated $2,000 to help get them there. ✅

But they need more, to cover flights, accommodation, and equipment for five students and five accompanying adults, and our community has always shown up when it matters.

This is one of those moments.

Please share this post. Tag a local business. Tell your friends. Let's put Whyalla and our Hydrogen technology on the map. 🗺️⚡

Congratulations to the March 2026 Business of the Month; Whyalla Accounting

It’s April already and for this month we congratulate Whyalla Accounting. Now here’s the thing, WB&T are all about promoting business and tourism but how do we glam up a story about an accounting business?
Well, insert that the business is owned by Danny Lynch! A born and bred Whyalla resident that has been an accountant since 2009 before venturing into his own business by 2011. Previous to this he worked as a financial advisor so his many years of experience in the industry has made the team very successful. With Danny you get more than just local knowledge and advice but also an engaging personality that will provide the support any person or businesses need require.

Whyalla Accounting provides services such as Personal and Business Tax Returns, Tax Advice and Planning, Bookkeeping Services, GST and PAYG strategies. Keeping it all in place is Heidi who has been with the business for approximately eleven years who Danny describes as an essential part of his ‘Jack of all Trades’ and ‘Front of House’ which makes it all fluidly operational.

As a keen football follower Danny and Whyalla Accounting are proud sponsors and members of the North Whyalla Football Club which is another way of providing that localised support.
Congratulations again to Danny, Heidi, and Team Whyalla Accounting for being a proud and local business, well done…
