๐Ÿ›น The Skate of Mind China tour has begun โ€” and we couldn't be more excited.

From 14 to 23 May, a crew of Australian skateboarders, musicians and digital artists are making their way through Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shanghai โ€” delivering workshops, building friendships, and creating alongside Chinese skate schools and Olympic athletes.

It's a genuine people-to-people exchange, built on a simple idea: skateboarding is a universal language. No matter where you're from, the culture speaks for itself.

Our team includes some of Australia's most exciting young skaters โ€” SLAM Skate of the Year 2026 Nixen Osborne, Olympic competitor Liv Lovelace, and World Cup qualifier Felicity Turner โ€” alongside digital artists, photographers and filmmakers capturing every moment for audiences at home and online.

This China leg is just the beginning. An Australian tour through the Northern Territory and Tasmania follows in August 2026.

We're deeply grateful for the support of the Australian Government and the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations, who are making this landmark cultural exchange possible.

Presented by Big hART โ€” making art, building community, driving change for over 35 years.

โœจ Something special is coming to Swan Hill.

Gulgawarnigu | Thinking of Someone. Something โ€” a stunning exhibition of digital portraits and landscapes by young Indigenous artists from Ieramugadu | Roebourne, WA โ€” opens at the Art Gallery of Swan Hill this May. Entry is free.

These powerful works were born from Country in remote Western Australia and have toured nationally since their debut at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra. Now they're coming to the heart of Murray River country โ€” and we'd love you to be there.

๐ŸŽ‰ Join us for Opening Night

We're at the Women Deliver 2026 Conference, and photographers Jess and Rachel are taking you through Sister-in-Law Dreaming โ€” a powerful exhibition of photography and video celebrating the everyday leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.

Spanning multiple nations, the work is inspired by women leaders and their ongoing stewardship of Country, community and culture โ€” grounded in nurture and collective care. At its heart is Punkaliyarra, a long-term, intergenerational women's initiative from Ieramugadu (Roebourne, Western Australia) โ€” a story of kinship, heritage, and women's unbroken connection to Country.
Photography by Jessica Allan, Nic Duncan, and Rachel Mounsey.

Produced by Create Justice in collaboration with Wiyi Yani U Thangani Institute for First Nations Gender Justice and Big hART, with the generous support of Nelson Meers Foundation and Women Deliver 2026.

๐Ÿ›น What a day at Port Kembla Festival!
The Skate of Mind crew rolled up to Wentworth St on Saturday 18th April, took over a vacant lot, and turned it into a skate session for the whole community. Our pro team threw down some demos and helped first-timers find the courage to drop in on the ramp โ€” those moments never get old. ๐Ÿค™
1 street. 10 venues. 40+ artists. 4,000+ people. Port Kembla Festival is everything a community event should be โ€” live independent music, markets, art, good people, and good vibes all round. The fact that it's free and community-funded makes it even more special.
Thanks for having us, Port Kembla Festival โ€” it was an honour to be part of something so unique. ๐Ÿ™Œ
