🚦 RYDA 2026 is a Wrap!

Another successful RYDA has wrapped up, giving local secondary students practical skills and strategies to help keep themselves, their passengers and others safe on our roads.

This year was made extra special with our local RYDA program receiving the 2026 Toyota Community Award for Australia 🏆, presented by Rachael Kelleher from Road Safety Education and Rob Connell from Toyota Grafton.

The award recognises 17 years of delivering RYDA locally, with more than 3,500 students taking part at no cost to them.

A huge thank you to the volunteers from the Rotary Clubs of Maclean, Rotary Club of Yamba, Rotary Club of Iluka Woombah and Grafton Midday Rotary, and to our major supporters O'Halloran Motors, Maclean Bowling Club, Clarence Valley Council, Causley’s Fresh Fruit & Veg, Maclean High School, Yamba Sports Centre and Yamba Surf Lifesaving Club.

Thank you also to Coffs-Clarence Police District for their attendance!

17 years, 3,500+ students and one important goal — safer young drivers and safer roads. 🚗🚦

Not long ago, on one of our visits to Bulolo Hospital to drop off donations, we met with CEO Gershom Guambalek. The night before had seen the small hospital faced with multiple trauma victims following a tribal disturbance in the town. Gershom described the entensive suffering experienced by those victims and the unfortunate need to send patients to another hospital 3 hours away due to their limited supply of sutures.

Last week, we were happy to deliver sutures as well as many other valuable medical supplies and equipment sent all the way from Australia. Thank you to our friends at Rotary Club of Ballina on Richmond, your hard work is very much appreciated and may even save a life 🙏😊🇵🇬

Let’s be honest with ourselves...

We all say we’re heading to Yamba Mitre 10 for hardware, potting mix, or DIY supplies. But we all know the real reason for setting an alarm on a Saturday morning...

Yep, you guessed it: The Yamba Rotary BBQ, right outside your favorite local store!

No weekend project or garden overhaul ever truly got started without a snag with extra sauce and onions. Consider it essential fuel before you tackle the aisles.

📍 Where: Yamba Mitre 10, 2 Uki Street

⏰ When: This Saturday | 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (unless sold out!)

Grab your hardware supplies at Yamba Mitre 10, treat yourself to a legendary Rotary sausage, and support a great local cause while you're at it. See you there!

🌊 ADVENTURE. LEADERSHIP. OPPORTUNITY.

“What do you hope to gain from participating in Young Endeavour?”

Why are more young people joining Rotary South Pacific? 🤔
Because it’s more than a club, it’s flexible, modern, and built for people who want to make an impact.

✅ Build real career skills
✅ Network with people who actually matter
✅ Make friends for life
✅ Work on meaningful projects, both locally and globally

If you want to grow, give back, and be part of something bigger, this is where it happens.
