আজ ২৪ ফেব্রুয়ারি জুলাই গণ-অভ্যুত্থান স্মৃতি জাদুঘর পরিদর্শনে আসেন সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাননীয় মন্ত্রী জনাব নিতাই রায় চৌধুরী এবং মাননীয় প্রতিমন্ত্রী জনাব আলী নেওয়াজ মাহমুদ খৈয়ম।
পরিদর্শনকালে তারা প্রত্যক্ষ করেন শেখ হাসিনার ফ্যাসিবাদী শাসনামলে ঘটা বহু অন্ধকার অধ্যায়ের ইতিহাস, যখন বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দল (বিএনপি) সহ বিভিন্ন রাজনৈতিক দলের ওপর নেমে এসেছিল অমানবিক নিপীড়ন।
আওয়ামী অপশাসনের আমলে সংবাদমাধ্যমের কণ্ঠরোধ, গুম, খুন এবং রাষ্ট্রীয় পৃষ্ঠপোষকতায় চালানো নানান অপকর্মের নিদর্শন তাদেরকে গভীরভাবে স্পর্শ করে।
জাদুঘরে সংরক্ষিত জুলাই অভ্যুত্থানের বীরত্বগাথা এবং ছাত্র-জনতার আত্মত্যাগের স্মৃতিচিহ্ন পরিদর্শনের একপর্যায়ে অত্যন্ত ভারাক্রান্ত হয়ে ওঠে পরিবেশ। অভ্যুত্থানের শহীদদের প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করে ফ্যাসিবাদমুক্ত এক নতুন বাংলাদেশ গড়ার দৃঢ় প্রত্যয় ব্যক্ত করেন মন্ত্রী এবং প্রতিমন্ত্রী মহোদয়।
মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী তারেক রহমান ২৪ এর অভ্যুত্থানকে 'স্বাধীনতা রক্ষার যুদ্ধ' হিসেবে অভিহিত করেছেন। সেই মূলমন্ত্রকে ধারণ করে বৈষম্যহীন, গণতান্ত্রিক ও সার্বভৌম বাংলাদেশ বিনির্মাণে বর্তমান সরকারের নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে যাওয়ার অঙ্গীকার পুনর্ব্যক্ত করেন তারা।
Today, February 24, the Honorable Minister for Cultural Affairs, Nitai Roy Chowdhury, and the Honorable Minister of State, Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam, visited the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum.
During the visit, they witnessed the dark history of Sheikh Hasina’s fascist regime, a period defined by the inhumane persecution of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and other political organizations. They were deeply moved by the evidence of state-sponsored atrocities, enforced disappearances, and the systematic silencing of the media under Awami misrule.
The atmosphere became profoundly somber as they viewed the relics of the July Uprising and the heroic sacrifices made by students and the general public. Paying deep tribute to the martyrs, both ministers expressed their firm resolve to build a new, fascism-free Bangladesh.
Recalling that Honorable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has defined the '24 Uprising as a "War to Protect Independence," they reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to building a non-discriminatory, democratic, and sovereign nation guided by that core principle.
