𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀

The Hon’ble Chairperson, Commissioner, and officials from the Anti-Corruption Commission visited Mongar Dzongkhag to conduct a session on Anti-Corruption Initiatives for the officials of the Dzongkhag Administration. The session was attended by Dasho Dzongdag, LG members, GAOs, regional and sector heads, and school principals. It provided a valuable platform for participants to engage in meaningful discussions on strengthening ethical values and promoting good governance.
The programme was highly interactive and informative, with participants actively contributing to discussions and sharing their experiences. Officials from the Commission delivered insightful presentations on the importance of preventing corruption, upholding professionalism, and fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and responsibility in public service.

The Dzongkhag Administration is deeply honoured to welcome the Hon’ble Chairperson on her first visit to the Dzongkhag following the assumption of office in the Anti-Corruption Commission of Bhutan.

As part of the Academic Excellence Prizes, Mongar Dzongkhag awarded interactive boards to schools in recognition of outstanding academic excellence. Drametse HSS topped the Primary and MSS levels, while Kidhilhar HSS secured the top position in the HSS level.
Endorsed during the Dzongkha Education Symposium, the initiative aims to motivate schools to strive for continuous improvement and achieve greater academic excellence through the balanced development of students’ physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and cognitive domains.

𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆

The Dzongkhag Administration is pleased to welcome Ms. Ugyen Dema, a graduate of The College of Language and Culture Studies (CLCS), in Taktse, as the Asst. HRO. Prior to her appointment in Mongar Dzongkhag, she completed a three-month Foundational In-Service Training at the Royal Institute of Management, followed by a one-month onboarding program at the Royal Civil Service Commission.

Today, she made a courtesy call to Dasho Dzongdag before formally assuming her responsibilities in the Dzongkhag HR Section.

The Dzongkhag Administration warmly welcomes her and wishes her a rewarding and fulfilling journey as she embarks on her professional career in service of the nation.

𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝘼 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙮-𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥

In a concerted effort to strengthen digital governance and workplace resilience, the ICT Section, in collaboration with the GovTech Agency, organized a one-day specialized workshop on Friday, 22nd May 2026. The programme brought together 95 participants, including officials from the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP), Eastern Regional Referral Hospital (ERRH), regional offices, Dzongkhag administration, and staff from nearby schools.

The workshop covered three critical thematic areas:
- 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙮, focusing on standardizing official communication, real-time collaboration, and digital records management;
- 𝘽𝙝𝙪𝙩𝙖𝙣 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙮 (𝙉𝘿𝙄) 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, oriented towards enabling secure, authenticated, and trusted service delivery while reducing reliance on paper-based processes; and
- 𝘾𝙮𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, equipping officials with the knowledge to safeguard government data and engage responsibly with emerging AI technologies.

The workshop reflects the Royal Government's strategic priority of building a digitally resilient civil service, capable of delivering efficient, secure, and citizen-centric services in alignment with Bhutan's broader digital transformation goals.

World Hypertension Day was observed at DT Hall on 17 May 2026 under the theme “Controlling Hypertension Together: Check Your Blood Pressure Regularly, Defeat the Silent Killer,” with participation from the business community of Mongar Thromde.

The programme focused on raising awareness on hypertension, promoting healthy lifestyle practices, and encouraging regular health screening to prevent non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Following the awareness session, participants also received NCD screening services, including blood pressure, blood glucose, and BMI assessments.

𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺

Mongar Dzongkhag Administration awarded the contract for the installation of fire alarm and smoke detection systems to Ugyen Trading House, a Thimphu-based firm. A total of 20 units were successfully installed at Mongar Dratshang, with the works completed on 8th May, 2026, over approximately three weeks. The newly installed system is expected to significantly enhance fire safety by enabling early detection and timely response in the event of a fire disaster. To ensure effective operation, hands-on training was provided to Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) personnel, who will be responsible for round-the-clock monitoring.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed among Mongar Dzongkhag Administration, Rabdey Dratshang, and the RBP, outlining the agreed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

The project was funded by the Royal Government of Bhutan (RGoB) at a total cost of Nu. 0.84 million.

𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗖𝗖𝗧𝗩 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗯 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀

CCTV cameras have now been installed along the town’s streets, covering the stretch from Rangwangyoe (Truck Parking) to the Welcome Gate in Trailing. This first-of-its-kind initiative in Mongar, aimed at building a safer city, is a joint effort between the Mongar Dzongkhag Administration and the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP). In addition to deterring crime, the cameras will also help address issues such as illegal waste dumping and open defecation.

A Lhabsang Thruesel ceremony was also conducted in the morning, prior to the official handover, in the presence of the Bumdhey Lam and Lopens from Mongar Rabdey.

The official handover of the CCTV system took place between Mongar Dzongkhag and the RBP Mongar Division. The project cost a total of Nu. 2.98 million and includes 30 cameras installed under the supervision and guidance of the surveillance team from the RBP Headquarters in Thimphu. Phase I covers key areas including Trailing, workshop zones, the town center, and the truck parking area in Rangwangyoe. Going forward, RBP personnel will be responsible for operating and monitoring the system, with technical support provided by the Dzongkhag ICT team in case of major breakdowns.

The main goal of this project is to improve public safety, regulate traffic, and reduce criminal activities within the community.
