🐝 𝐆𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐂 𝐖𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐫

A team from 𝐆𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 visited ARDC Wengkhar en route to the Gyalsung Academies to explore opportunities for establishing and strengthening farming activities for education across the four Gyalsung Academies in the country. During the visit, the team interacted with the technical staff of ARDC Wengkhar on suitable farming systems, crop selection, production technologies and technical support required to develop productive and sustainable farming initiatives within the academies.

The team also visited various research and demonstration technologies at the Research Centre, including protected agriculture, irrigation and fertigation, hydroponics, nursery technologies, and other climate-smart agricultural practices.

The visit provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration with discussions focused on 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 into the 𝐆𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 to promote practical learning, food production, skills development, and food security among the cadets.

🌱 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

FAO Bhutan, in collaboration with the Bhutan Stroke Foundation (BSF), visited 𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐂 𝐖𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐫, as part of the ongoing consultation under the pilot initiative on inclusive agri-therapeutic approaches. The visit offered the team an opportunity to observe the centre’s agricultural activities and facilities and learn from its practical experiences. These observations will help inform the development of the proposed 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢-𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 in 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐠.

The visit also provided an opportunity to explore how agricultural activities could be adapted to support rehabilitation while providing opportunities for 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡. The experience at ARDC Wengkhar provided useful insights for planning the facilities and activities at the proposed centre, with a focus on creating a space that is inclusive, practical and supportive of rehabilitation, skills development and livelihood opportunities.

🌿 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 (𝗘𝗦𝗦) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗼𝗣)

𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐂 𝐖𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐫, conducted a sensitization session on Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS) and the Code of Practice (CoP)under the 𝐑𝐍𝐑 𝐉𝐨𝐛𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, funded by the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤. Facilitated by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐁𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐢, the session focused on strengthening participants understanding of environmental and social considerations in project planning and implementation. Key areas discussed included environmental protection, resource efficiency and pollution prevention, occupational health and safety, social responsibility, community engagement, and the identification and mitigation of potential environmental and social risks.

The session also highlighted the importance of a Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) to ensure a transparent, fair, and timely system for addressing concerns and strengthening accountability among implementing agencies. Particular emphasis was placed on 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐚𝐩 through increased employment opportunities for women. Overall, the session provided a valuable platform to enhance institutional awareness and capacity while promoting safe, inclusive, accountable, and environmentally responsible implementation of the RNR Jobs Project.

𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔.

Roads are vital lifelines for connecting communities, facilitating the movement of goods and services, and keeping local economies moving. Maintaining them, however, requires collective ownership and responsibility from all road users.

With this in mind, 𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐂 𝐖𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐫 held a consultation meeting with stakeholders and institutions using the Center’s access road to strengthen shared ownership and accountability for its proper use and upkeep following the completion of the upcoming maintenance works.

The Center has secured funding for 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐄𝐔). The Wengkhar community and institutions using the road sincerely appreciate the 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐡𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐔 for this important support.

𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 | 𝗧-𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗶𝘄𝗶𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

In 2024, 𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗖 𝗪𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗿 promoted the 𝗧-𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 in Mr. 𝗚𝗮𝘆𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝘁𝘀𝗵𝗼’𝘀 kiwifruit orchard at Minjey Gewog, Lhuentse. With financial support from 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗘𝗣 under a 70:30 cost-sharing mechanism, a T-bar trellis system was established over his 0.45-acre kiwifruit orchard to improve orchard management and productivity. Prior to the intervention, only a few kiwifruit plants were supported with wooden trellis structures, while the majority of the vines were grown without any trellis support.

Today, the impact of this intervention is clearly evident. The kiwifruit vines are growing healthy and vigorously, with well-trained canopies and heavy fruit sets, demonstrating the effectiveness of the T-bar trellis system in enhancing orchard management and boosting productivity. In addition, the permanent T-bar trellis system has reduced the labour and maintenance costs associated with traditional wooden trellis systems, providing a more durable, efficient, and sustainable support structure for kiwifruit cultivation.

Yesterday, the 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 (𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐂), 𝐖𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐫 had the honour of welcoming the Honourable Chairperson, Honourable Deputy Chairperson, and Members of the 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 (𝐏𝐀𝐂) to the Centre.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss the findings of the 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 of the 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 (𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐄𝐏). The consultation meeting was attended by representatives from 𝐎𝐏𝐌-𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐄𝐏, 𝐎𝐏𝐌-𝐆𝐄𝐅𝟖, 𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐂𝐎, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐠 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫, 𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐂-𝐖𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐫, and the 𝐆𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐠 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.

During the session, 𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐂-𝐖𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐏𝐌-𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐄𝐏 presented the key achievements, impacts, and lessons learned from the ten years of CARLEP implementation. The team also responded to queries raised by the Honourable Members of the Committee and provided additional information to support the discussions.

We are deeply honoured by the Committee’s visit and their valuable engagement. Such consultations strengthen transparency, accountability, and collaboration in public service delivery. We look forward to continued guidance and future opportunities to engage with the Honourable Members.

May this sacred initiative inspire us to cultivate kindness, compassion, and gratitude in our daily lives, while contributing to the collective peace and happiness of our communities.

Today, 15 July 2026, the ARDC-Wengkhar family organized a Tashi Khadar ceremony to honour two staff members on their well-deserved promotions conferred by the Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC). The ceremony was graciously presided over by the Wengkhar Lam.
