World Environment Day 4th June 2026.

The Dzongkhag Administration, Paro, in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of Natural Resources, celebrated World Environment Day 2026 at Tashi Namgay Resort. The event was observed coinciding with the auspicious occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen.

The event was graced by the Special Advisor to the National Environment Commission, Dasho Peljor J. Dorji; Dasho Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Rinpung Rabdey Lam Neten, Dasho Dzongdag, Members of the National Council, Dasho Drangpons, Dasho Superintendent of Police, Director of the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Officials from JICA and UNDP, Gups, Regional Managers, School Principals, Sector Heads, officials from the Department of Environment and Climate Change, and private waste entrepreneurs.

During the celebration, the Pilot Initiative for the Reduction of Single-Use Plastic Carry Bags through the Promotion of Eco-Friendly Alternatives was officially launched. The event also featured an exhibition showcasing eco-friendly alternatives to single-use plastic products, aimed at raising public awareness and promoting sustainable consumption practices. The initiative reflects the collective commitment of government agencies, development partners, the private sector, and local communities to reduce plastic pollution and foster a cleaner, greener environment.

Conclusion of the five-day training on Dzongzhu, 29/5/2026.

The five-day training on Dzongzhu for Administrative and HR Assistants was successfully completed today.

The basic Dzongzhu training focused on four main topics that are integral to improving Dzongkha competencies in daily official correspondences, which were highlighted by the trainers.

All participants expressed confidence in the knowledge and skills they gained from the five-day training.

They also reaffirmed their appreciation, stating that the training would help enhance their competencies in Dzongkha correspondences and official communications.

The closing ceremony of the training was attended by the Dzongkhag Chief DEO, Chief HR of the RCSC Secretariat, Dzongkhag Senior HR Officer, and the Principal of Wangsel Institute.

The National Scouts Jamboree 26-30 May 2026.

The opening ceremony of the National Scouts Jamboree at National Scout Center was graced by the Hon’ble Sherig Lyonpo today.

The National Scouts Jamboree is a large gathering of scouts from across the country, usually organized every 3–4 years.

This year, 550 students and 115 staff are participating in the program. The Jamboree aims to bring scouts together to celebrate the values of scouting, build friendships, and develop skills beyond the classroom.

The event focuses on teamwork, leadership, self-reliance, and service to others through various educational and outdoor activities.

The program will conclude on 30th May 2026.

25 - 29/05/2026.

A five-day training on Dzongzhu for Administrative and HR Assistants commenced today at Wangsel Institute, Paro.

The training is being initiated by the Royal Civil Service Commission in collaboration with the Dzongkha Development Commission across the country to re-skill and upskill Administrative and HR Assistants in their Dzongkha competencies, particularly in drafting and communicating official correspondences.

Paro Dzongkhag is the last Dzongkhag to conduct this training, which will conclude on Friday, 29 May 2026.

A total of 26 Administrative and HR Assistants from schools, hospital, Dzongkhag Secretariat, and the HR Division are participating in the programme.

The opening session of the training was graced by the Dzongkhag Chief DEO, the Senior HR Officer, and the Principal and staff of Wangsel Institute.
