Hon'ble Lyonpo of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment Visits Paro Dzongkhag to Discuss Business Regulatory Reforms.

Paro Dzongkhag had the honour of hosting the Hon'ble Lyonpo of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE), accompanied by the Dasho Secretary, senior officials from the Ministry, officials from the Cabinet, the Regional Office of Industry, Commerce and Employment (ROICE), and other relevant agencies, as part of the nationwide Business Regulatory Reform initiative.

During the meeting, the Dzongkhag Administration presented an overview of Paro's economic development initiatives and highlighted key business regulatory challenges affecting the Dzongkhag. The presentation focused on the current business environment, major regulatory bottlenecks, their impacts on investment and enterprise growth, and recommendations to improve the ease of doing business.

The interactive session provided an opportunity for members of the business community to openly share their concerns and experiences regarding existing business regulations and operational challenges.

Discussions covered a wide range of issues, including tourism reforms, the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP), subsidy support for hotels, regulations governing the entertainment sector, and other general business-related concerns.

The Hon'ble Lyonpo and the Ministry officials received the concerns positively and reaffirmed the Government's commitment to pursuing practical and meaningful reforms that will create a more enabling, transparent, and business-friendly environment across the country.

The Ministry also shared updates on ongoing tourism sector reforms, including the Tourism Minimum Facility Initiatives, aimed at enhancing service standards and strengthening Bhutan's tourism industry.

The visit reflects the Royal Government's continued commitment to engaging directly with businesses, understanding ground realities, and incorporating stakeholders' feedback into national policy and regulatory reforms for sustainable economic growth.
