🚨 Please Share and Help Us Bring Casper Home 🚨

Yesterday afternoon, Casper, our friendly Rottweiler, went missing from our sanctuary. Casper is extremely gentle and affectionate and will happily go with anyone who calls her.

Following a thorough investigation, we discovered that an orange taxi, driven by a female driver, had been parked just below our sanctuary. Casper's last paw prints were found near the spot where the taxi was parked. Based on the circumstances, we strongly suspect that Casper may have been taken by the female taxi driver or someone accompanying her. If this suspicion is confirmed, we will pursue the matter through the appropriate legal channels.

We would also like to remind the public that many people have been visiting the area around our sanctuary to collect mushrooms. For everyone's safety and to protect our animals, please do not enter our sanctuary premises without prior permission. We cannot be held responsible for any incidents that may occur to unauthorized visitors. Unfortunately, some visitors have also been leaving rubbish behind, making the area dirty. We kindly request everyone to help keep the surroundings clean by disposing of waste responsibly.

If you have seen Casper or have any information regarding her whereabouts, please contact us immediately. A handsome reward will be offered for credible information leading to her safe return. Casper is microchipped, which will make it easier to confirm her identity once she is found.

Thank you for your cooperation and support. Please help us bring Casper home safely.

Yesterday, one of our dogs, Casper, a female Rottweiler, went missing. She is very friendly, and based on the information we have gathered, we believe someone took her from our property.
We are aware that many people have been coming to the area to collect mushrooms, and we believe someone from one of these groups may have taken her.

Please do not assume that we will be unable to find you. Casper is microchipped, which makes it possible to identify and trace her wherever she is found.

If you have Casper, we ask that you return her immediately. Otherwise, we will file a complaint with law enforcement, and appropriate legal action will be taken. Taking someone else's property without permission is a serious matter and may be treated as theft under the law.

We are also reviewing CCTV footage as part of our investigation.

We kindly request all our followers and supporters to share this information. Thank you for your support.

Yesterday evening, a compassionate couple discovered a pet dog in critical condition. Today, our rescue team brought the dog to Zeus Nakulu Dog Sanctuary, where he immediately received emergency veterinary treatment.

It is heartbreaking to see that the dog appears to have been struck by a moving vehicle, leaving his hindquarters paralyzed. Even more devastating is that he had been lying in the bushes for more than two to three days, suffering without food, water, or help. By the time we rescued him, he was severely dehydrated, emaciated, and covered with painful pressure sores on his hock joints from being unable to move.

It is difficult to comprehend how any pet owner could abandon a loyal companion in such a condition. If you are not prepared to care for a dog throughout its entire life, including during illness, old age, or injury, please reconsider adopting one. A pet is a lifelong commitment, not a responsibility to be discarded when circumstances become challenging.

Abandoning pet dogs has devastating consequences. The animal endures immense pain, fear, hunger, and loneliness. Unlike free-roaming dogs that have adapted to surviving outdoors, abandoned pet dogs often lack the skills necessary to fend for themselves. Their abandonment also contributes to community concerns, road accidents, and the growing population of stray and abandoned dogs.

Sadly, we continue to witness an increasing number of abandoned pet dogs roaming the streets. This is a growing animal welfare issue that requires greater awareness and responsible pet ownership.

Between 2025 and 2026, Thimphu and Paro Zeus Nakulu Dog Sanctuary have accepted more than 100 surrendered and abandoned pet dogs into our care. While we remain committed to rescuing and rehabilitating every animal we can, this alarming number highlights the urgent need for responsible ownership, compassion, and accountability.

A dog's loyalty is unconditional. They ask for very little—only love, care, and a safe place to call home. Please do not abandon them when they need you the most.

Be responsible. Be compassionate. Be their voice. ❤️🐾

We would also like to express our gratitude to Mr. Phuntsho, who visited our sanctuary and donated 2 bags of rice, 1 carton of dog biscuits, and 3 packets of salt. In addition, he thoughtfully presented Nu. 500 each as pocket money to our dedicated field staff in recognition of their hard work and commitment.

Finally, our heartfelt appreciation goes to Ms. Tenzin Tshogyal for her monthly contribution of Nu. 1,000 to the Zeus Nakulu Dog Welfare Fund for July 2026. Your continued support means so much to us.

To everyone who visited our sanctuaries and extended your kindness through donations, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity enables us to rescue, care for, and provide a better life for countless voiceless souls. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope, healing, and a brighter future for the animals in our care.

Together, we are giving abandoned and vulnerable dogs the love, dignity, and second chance they deserve. ❤️🐾

Thank you for standing with Zeus Nakulu Dog Sanctuary and for being the voice of the voiceless.

This evening, we received a call from Olakha about a sick pet dog. A kind-hearted couple took the dog to the veterinary hospital, stayed throughout the treatment, and then entrusted the dog to our care so that we could continue its treatment until it fully recovers.
From its appearance, we can clearly tell that it was once someone's pet and now seems to have been abandoned.

We would like to make a heartfelt request to all pet owners: if you are not able to care for your pet and provide it with a loving home for its entire life, please do not adopt one in the first place. Every pet deserves love, care, and responsibility until its last breath.
When pet dogs are abandoned, they suffer greatly and often become free-roaming dogs. This not only puts the dogs at risk but also creates challenges for the community. Responsible pet ownership is the key to preventing such situations.

This week, we have rescued more than six dogs, and most of them appear to be abandoned pet dogs. None of them were microchipped, and every one of them is seriously ill and currently undergoing treatment at the National Veterinary Hospital (NVH).
Our team now visits the veterinary hospital regularly to ensure they receive the care and treatment they need. Some days, our team spends the entire day at the hospital while the dogs undergo treatment.

This is a reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership. Please do not abandon your pets. If you choose to adopt a dog, make a lifelong commitment to care for it, and have it microchipped so it can be identified and returned if it ever gets lost.
