Bowser Legion Branch 211 is amazing! They do so much for the community giving back and contributing more than you know!
Here is our Chief George Lenz accepting a donation of $1500.00 to our fire department. This contribution helps us fund our equipment and training.
THANK YOU 211!

It's not unusual for our members to extricate badly injured people from crashes or to attend to those who are unconscious or suffering memory loss and confusion.
You can help us help you by following these simple steps on your mobile devices. This will allow first responders to contact your loved ones.

How to Set Up Emergency Contact (Medical ID). Hereโ€™s a step by step for Iphone and Android.

IPhone
-Open the Health App: Open the Apple Health App (pre-installed).
-Access Medical ID: Tap your profile picture in the top right, then tap Medical ID.
-Edit Information: Tap Edit (top right) to add details like conditions, allergies, and medications.
-Add Emergency Contacts: Scroll to "Emergency Contacts" and tap add emergency contact to select someone from your contacts list.
-Enable Lock Screen Access: Toggle Show When Locked to green. This is crucial for first responders.
-Enable Sharing: Toggle Share During Emergency Call to allow info to be sent to emergency services in the US/Canada.
-Tap Done

Android
-Open Settings: Go to Settings > Safety & Emergency (or search "Emergency" in settings).
-Add Medical Information: Tap Medical Info to add details like allergies, blood type, or medications.
-Add Contacts: Tap Emergency Contacts > Add Contact and select from your contact list.
-Enable Lock Screen Access: Ensure the toggle for Show when locked is turned on.

Be safe and know that if you need help we are just a phone call away.

On behalf of the Fire Department and the Fire and Rescue Society, we want to express our sincerest gratitude for the incredible number of people who showed up to help with the Saturday bottle drive. Thanks too for the amazing volume of donations from curbside and drop-offs!
Having such a large turnout goes so far to boost our morale and shows what a special neighbourly bond we all share.
Happy to report that we had everything collected, sorted, counted and delivered by early afternoon.
THANK YOU BOWSER and DEEP BAY!
DBF&R we're there when you need us.

Just a reminder that the Deep Bay Fire Rescue Society is holding their bottle drive this Saturday.
Volunteers to help sort would be greatly appreciated even if its only for an hour or two.
The bottle drive runs from 9 am to 2 pm, hot dogs and veggie hot dogs with drinks and yummy desserts are provided.
Come out and meet your local Volunteer Fire Fighters and neighbours.
For those wishing to donate bottles and cans you can drop off at the FireHall around back after 9am Saturday or place at the curb by 9am.

Save the date: Saturday March 28, 2026. 9:00 am - 2:00 pm (ish).
Many hands make light work and a cohesive and supportive community.
If you have a few spare hours or a few days, we could really use some help with the bottle drive. PLEASE come out and donate your time to help or at least your returnable cans and bottles.
There's food and beverages and door prizes and, the best part, your local friends and neighbors making a difference in this wonderful place we all call home.
If you want to help more, like with set up and organizing call Barb Nixon at 250-757-9902.
See you Saturday!!!

Being a member of Deep Bay Fire & Rescue is much more than responding to those in crisis. It's about supporting causes like the Wounded Warrior Run. It's also about friendship, community, and camaraderie.
Once a month our team meets at the hall to share a hearty breakfast then maintain, wash, and fix our trucks and equipment.
If you've thought about joining us, we welcome new members! Come by on Monday nights (6:30) for regular practice or just send us a PM on here and we can chat.
You can always help too by joining the Deep Bay Fire and Rescue Society and WE ALWAYS NEED HELP at the bottle drive on the 28th this month!
DBF&R always there for you. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿš˜๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”

Thank goodness February was a short month, because we sure were BUSY! When not training with our fire fighters and first responders. We were out day time and night time answering call outs for 1 fire, 7 car crashes, 7 first responder calls and 1 miscellaneous call for a burning complaint. Whew! What a month, all that said, we're always ready for more!!!! (Including our regular practice Monday night).
DBF&R there for you ANYTIME!๐Ÿš˜๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿš’

Recently Global Medic donated a Fire Skid to us.
"What's a Fire Skid" you ask?
It is an easily deployable portable pump and reservoir that enables us to transport and support a fire crew at a remote fire base. This significantly helps us be prepared to fight multiple fires in and near our community effectively.
We cannot thank Global Medic enough for this generous donation and made this little tribute video in honour.
