Looking for support? YWCA Calgary's Mental Health & Counselling programs are currently accepting new clients.

Our services include:
• Individual counselling for adults facing stress, relationship challenges, communication difficulties, family violence, and mental health concerns
• Group counselling programs that offer opportunities to share, learn, and build skills in a supportive environment

Sliding-scale fees are available based on financial circumstances, and no one is turned away due to an inability to pay.

1 in 3 Canadian teens who have dated report experiencing dating violence: physical, psychological or online. That's not a rare exception. It's a common experience most schools aren't equipped to address.

We think every student deserves the tools to recognize unhealthy dynamics before they become normal, it's part of why we run HERE for Youth, our in-school program for Grades 7–12.

Happy International Dog Day!

At YWCA Calgary, we know pets are family. They're comfort, companionship and sometimes the reason someone finds the courage to start over.

That's why our crisis shelter is fully pet-friendly, so families never have to leave a beloved animal behind. With support from partners like the Calgary Humane Society and Alberta Rescue Foundation, pets who come through our doors get vet care, cozy bedding, toys and treats, right alongside the support their families receive.

One woman we supported couldn't imagine leaving her dog behind and stayed somewhere unsafe far longer than she should have. When she learned she could bring him with her, she finally made the move to safety. Today, she, her children and her dog are thriving in their new home.

Every wagging tail in our shelter is a reminder of how far hope can go.
