Mentorship for Rural Immigrants A flexible, no-cost, Bow Valley College online course for Permanent Residents who live outside of Calgary. The program is very flexible.

The Mentorship for Rural Immigrants program provides no-cost professional and personal learning opportunities for newcomers to Canada. The program covers various topics such as integrating into Canadian workplace culture, honing communication and interpersonal skills, fostering teamwork and collaboration, problem-solving techniques, and establishing connections within the community. Each participa

nt is paired with a mentor in their local community. Participants move through the online material on their own, then meet with their mentor to discuss & practice what they’ve learned. It typically takes approximately 16 weeks to complete and is done on a part time basis (2-3 hours per week). Participants must live in rural Alberta to be eligible (For the purposes of this program, ‘rural’ refers to anywhere in Alberta, excluding Calgary or Edmonton). This program is funded by the Government of Alberta, Ministry of Trade, Immigration and Multiculturalism.
