Our play shelf got a festive makeover! 🎃👻

We’ve stocked it with lots of fun Halloween-themed books and hands-on activities for the month of October. So much learning happens when they have the opportunity to revisit familiar ideas through play, make their own choices, and explore them in their own way. ✨

Happy Thanksgiving from BTLC! 🧡 We are incredibly grateful for our students, families, staff, and community partners who make our work meaningful every day. We wish you a wonderful day of rest, joy, and connection. 🦃🍂

This self portrait project stretched across several days and classroom activities, giving each child the opportunity to express their unique preferences and personality. From painting their tshirts, to practicing pre-printing lines and shapes for their patterned pants, to selecting a picture each day that represented their choice, every step was meaningful.

Our 'All About Me' theme has been a perfect way to begin the school year! Throughout September our kiddos learned about themselves, their families, and the friends and teachers in our school community. We explored our five senses and discovered many ways we are alike and different. We have celebrated what makes each of us unique, shared our individual preferences, and reinforced the important message that it is ok to be different. We also focused on what it means to belong to our school family - to feel loved, cared for, connected and valued.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a time to reflect, honor residential school survivors, and commit to a future where Every Child Matters. The children in our program helped create this artwork to represent how every child deserves to feel at school: happy, safe, loved, connected, heard, seen, important, kind, cared for, respected, and valued.

On this day, we honor the survivors, remember the children who never came home, and reaffirm our responsibility as educators and caregivers to create positive and supportive learning environments for all. 🧡

What a great start to the new school year! 🎒✨

At BTLC, we create a warm, welcoming space where every child feels comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. Over the past two weeks, we’ve been following their lead, discovering what truly motivates them.

We are also introducing our daily routines and our theme for September, which is All About Me—and we are loving every minute of getting to know all the unique, incredible personalities in our classrooms! 🧩❤️

Our hearts are heavy along with the entire community as we grieve the loss of 11-year-old Parker Wells. 💙

As a preschool dedicated to supporting neurodivergent children, this news is especially difficult.

We extend our deepest condolences to Parker’s family and our immense gratitude to the first responders and community members who searched endlessly for him with so much care and hope.
