Wait, what?

According to firefighters Ryan and Brady, the lid on the front bumper of 111 is most definitely a barbecue.

The kids at City of Kawartha Lakes Day Camps weren’t convinced — and they had a few follow up questions.🤔

They learnt that it’s actually a pre-connected hose stored on the bumper, tucked under that big diamond-plate lid.

A big thank you to D Shift out of our Lindsay station for such an engaging and entertaining lesson and to CKL Day Camps for the invitation!

🚣 Heading out on the water at one of Kawartha Lakes' Ontario Parks this long weekend?

Here's what Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service wants you to do before you go:

✅ Borrow a personal flotation device (PFD) through Ontario Parks lending program
📱 Download the what3words app and know how to use it
📍 Know your location

Experience on the water doesn't make you invincible. If an emergency happens, telling 911 you're at a provincial park may not be enough. Our parks cover hundreds of square kilometres, and what3words can help emergency services pinpoint your exact location, when every second counts.

Stay safe. Be prepared. Know where you are.
