Today, we celebrate the many ways people think, learn, and experience the world.

Neurodiversity is a reminder that there is no “one right way” to be. We all bring unique perspectives, strengths, and talents to our communities.

At Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Community Services, we are committed to fostering spaces where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued, just as they are.

Let’s continue to listen, learn, and create a community that embraces difference and champions inclusion. 💛

Elder abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, financial, or neglect.

It is often hidden, but by learning the signs and speaking up, we can help create safer, more supportive communities for seniors.

Let’s take a moment today to check in on the older adults in our lives, listen with care, and help ensure their voices are heard. Small actions, like a conversation, a visit, or offering support can make a meaningful difference.

This month, we take time to learn, reflect, and honour the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

National Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to deepen our understanding, listen to Indigenous voices, and recognize the resilience and strength of Indigenous communities, past, present, and future.

We acknowledge that our work takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Katzie First Nation and Kwantlen First Nation.

National Accessibility Week is a time to recognize the importance of accessibility and inclusion in our communities. Accessibility is about more than physical spaces, it’s about programs, services, attitudes, and systems that allow everyone to participate fully and with dignity.

This week encourages reflection, learning, and action to help remove barriers and create welcoming, inclusive environments for people of all abilities. When accessibility is built in, everyone benefits.

Let’s continue working toward communities where everyone belongs.

A heartfelt thank you to Greg for his generous donation to Alisa’s Wish Child & Youth Advocacy Centre, made in honour of the legacy of his parents, Geraldine and Kenneth Burnett.

Because of supporters like Greg, children, youth, and families in our community can continue to access the care, advocacy, and support they need during difficult times.

We are deeply grateful for this meaningful gift and the lasting impact it will have on the lives of those we serve.
