On January 24th, 2026, cadets from 583 Coronation Air Cadets went snowshoeing up at Mount Seymour. There they learned how to use survival skills such as what to do if you're lost in the freezing cold, and trekked through the snowy expanse of the mountains. Our cadets had a blast snowshoeing and are sure to come again! Thank you to the squadron for hosting this exciting event for our cadets, they definitely appreciated it.

On January 25th, our 583 Drill Team participated at their first Drill Competition since before Covid!

They have been practicing diligently every Friday for the competition, sacrificing their free time for our squadron. The team continues to learn and grow through their drill, dress, and deportment, and we can't wait to see their newly developed precision routine at ACR! Congrats to those who participated in the competition, and keep up the hard work!

On Tuesday, January 13th, our squadron's flag party cadets hosted their annual tryouts. After months of practice, these cadets were evaluated on things such as their drill, dress, and deportment. During these tryouts, we got to see the growth and progress from our fellow cadets. The flag party is considered the most prestigious flight and has high standards.

Thank you to all the cadets who tried out, and congratulations to the cadets who made it into the flag party!

On December 6th, 2025, cadets from 583 Coronation Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets paraded in the annual Maple Ridge Santa Claus Parade. With flag party parading with giant Candy Canes, Band playing festive Christmas tunes and decorating their instruments, and cadets handing out candy canes to the community and wearing Santa Hats, the Santa Claus parade is always a fun time for everyone! Great work to our cadets for representing our squadron, and to our band for being the leading band of the parade!

On November 27th, 583 Coronation Squadron hosted its third Commanding Officer's Parade (COs) of the training year! This is a parade for all cadets to show their continuous growth in the cadet program through their drill, dress, and deportment. It also serves a second purpose - to prepare the cadets for our upcoming Annual Ceremonial Review (Otherwise known as ACR). This evening also featured promotions from Leading Air Cadet to Corporal.
