Moose Cree First Nation is drafting its own constitution, which is a set of guiding principles that form the legal basis for governing our First Nation. It will define our inherent rights, governmental structures, and more.

This is a very important document for our people and we are seeking the input of Moose Cree Members to help develop it. Attend an upcoming session to learn more and provide your feedback.

Water pressure is scheduled to be decreased Wednesday, October 14 at 9 PM to Thursday, October 15 at 7 AM.

The water storage tank levels remain below normal due to a suspected leak in the distribution system. In addition, high water demand from ongoing contractor activities is making it difficult for the system to recover and restore normal tank levels.

The pressure will need to be decreased this evening to allow the reservoir levels to increase.

Moose Cree First Nation is pleased to inform the community that Community Security Personnel have been hired under the supervision of the Drug Task Force as part of our continued commitment to enhancing the safety and security of our community.

Community Security Personnel will provide an increased and visible presence throughout the community and will be clearly identifiable by their official uniforms and designated security vehicles/trucks.

The Security Team will perform typical community security duties, including community patrols, monitoring areas of concern, observing and reporting suspicious activity, assisting with safety-related matters, and providing a visible presence intended to help deter unwanted or unlawful activity.

It is important for the community to understand that, although the Security Team operates under the supervision of the Drug Task Force, Community Security Personnel are not Drug Task Force Employees and will not be responsible for, or tasked with, Drug Task Force investigations or enforcement duties. Their primary responsibility is community security, observation, patrol, prevention, and reporting.

Moose Cree First Nation would also like to sincerely thank community members who continue to come forward and report suspected illegal drug activity. Information from the community remains important in helping address drug trafficking and other activities that negatively affect the safety and well-being of our community.

We encourage community members to continue reporting suspected illegal drug activity to the proper authorities, including local law enforcement and the Moose Cree First Nation Drug Task Force.

The addition of Community Security Personnel represents another step toward strengthening our overall approach to community safety through visibility, prevention, cooperation, and community involvement.

We ask the community to welcome and support our new Community Security Personnel as they begin their duties.

Together, we all have a role in keeping Moose Cree First Nation safe.

Course information:

Day One: The canine first aid certifying course has been designed with your learning ease and comfort in mind. During this course, you’ll never be put on the spot, but rather be supported in a variety of learning styles. Participant’s favourite part is the hands-on practical scenarios – Such as K9 CPR Training, bandaging, XXT extraction, broken bone stabilization and more.

Day Two: This course is perfect for dog owners who often take their furry friends hiking, camping, or live in remote areas far from veterinary care. It’s designed to equip you with the skills necessary for extreme emergencies where immediate action could be the difference between life and death for your dog. This hands-on training demystifies the scariest scenarios. You’ll start with a refresher on lifesaving CPR and mouth-to-nose resuscitation, then move on to advanced techniques like sub-cutaneous hydration, stitching, handling fractures, impalements, and more. We also cover how to deal with animal attacks, coonhound paralysis, dangerous insects and plants, and environmental hazards. Plus, learn crucial skills like K9 slinging and extraction for solo handlers, stabilization for transport, and managing hypo/hyperthermia, exhaustion, and heat stroke. The course is scenario-based to enhance learning through hands-on practice, helping build your muscle memory.

You’ll also get a comprehensive 120+ page manual to use as a reference anytime you need it.
