RYR Sports will be in Moose Factory and Moosonee this week to provide fitting services for minor hockey league players! Make sure your child's equipment fits properly this upcoming hockey season to improve both safety and performance!

The water pressure is scheduled to be decreased:

• During the planned power outage Sunday, August 16 at 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

• Sunday, August 16 at 11:00 PM to Monday, August 17 at 7:00 AM

During the planned power outage on Sunday, August 16, the water plant will not be able to make water because there will be no power to the pumps that transfer water into the water plant. To conserve water, a decrease during the power outage will be necessary.

The pressure will also need to be decreased in the evening to allow the reservoir levels to increase.

Moose Cree First Nation would like to inform community members of a planned power outage scheduled for:

Sunday, August 16, 2026
8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Hydro One will be completing work on the electrical system serving our community. During this outage, crews will also conduct maintenance and repairs on local infrastructure to help improve reliability and reduce the need for future outages.

How to Prepare

Community members are encouraged to take the following steps before the outage:

- Ensure appliances, such as stoves, are turned off.
- Fully charge cellphones and other electronic devices.
- Use a battery-powered alarm clock or cellphone for important reminders.
- Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible to help preserve food.
- If your home's water service may be affected, consider storing drinking and cooking water in advance.
- If using a generator, operate it outdoors in a dry area away from windows, doors, and vents.
