Orangeville Fire Services is looking for dedicated members of our community to join our team as Volunteer Firefighters!

Being a volunteer firefighter is about more than responding to emergencies. It’s about serving your neighbours, supporting your community, building lifelong friendships, and making a real difference when people need you most.

🔥 2026 VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT INFORMATION NIGHTS
📍 Orangeville Fire Services - 10 Dawson Road, Orangeville
📅 Session 1: Thursday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m.
📅 Session 2: Tuesday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m.

👨‍🚒 Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must:
🎂 Be 18 years of age or older
🎓 Have a Secondary School Graduation Diploma
🚗 Hold a valid Class G Ontario Driver’s Licence
🚒 Be able to obtain a DZ Licence within one year
💪 Be able to pass physical and medical screening
⛑️ Have First Aid & CPR Level C upon hire
📍 Preference is given to individuals residing in Dufferin County within a 3 km radius of Orangeville Fire Services

For the week of July 27th - 🚨 Dufferin County Fire Rating Updated to MODERATE 🚨

The current fire hazard rating across Dufferin County has been lowered to MODERATE.

Under a Moderate Fire Hazard Rating, conditions are still present that allow fires to start, but the risk of rapid spread is reduced compared to higher levels. Caution is still required when burning outdoors, and residents are reminded that fire safety remains important.

🔥 What MODERATE means for residents:
• Open-air burning may be permitted where allowed by your local municipality and burn permit conditions
• Fires should be kept small, controlled, and closely monitored at all times
• Wind and dry conditions can still cause fires to spread unexpectedly
• Fireworks and other high-risk activities should be used with caution and in accordance with local bylaws

🔥 Fire safety reminders:
• Never leave any fire unattended
• Keep water, a hose, or shovel nearby
• Ensure all fires are fully extinguished before leaving the area
• Properly dispose of smoking materials safely
• Be mindful of dry grass, brush, and surrounding vegetation

If you see a fire or have an emergency, call 911 immediately.

UPDATE: 7-20-2026 at 10:45am - THE FIRE BAN HAS BEEN LIFTED.

Complete burn ban notice⚠️🚨

A complete burn ban is now in effect across Dufferin County (Orangeville included), effective immediately.

Why are we doing this?

➡️ Extremely dry conditions and poor air quality from wildfire smoke have created a much higher risk for fires getting out of control.

➡️ The ban reduces wildfire risk and prevents adding additional smoke to the air.

What does this mean?

🚫 No open-air burning or fires of any kind are allowed until further notice

Remember to monitor local air quality and limit outdoor activities, especially if you are experiencing health impacts from the smoke.

🚨 Dufferin County Fire Rating Elevated to HIGH 🚨

The current fire hazard rating across Dufferin County is HIGH.

Under a High Fire Hazard Rating, fire conditions are serious and extreme caution must be used when burning. Burn piles, campfires, and other forms of open-air burning may be restricted or subject to additional requirements depending on your municipality.

Residents are reminded to:
🔥 Use extreme caution with any approved outdoor burning activities.
🔥 Never leave a fire unattended.
🔥 Ensure fires are fully extinguished before leaving the area.
🔥 Properly dispose of smoking materials.
🔥 Avoid activities that could accidentally ignite dry grass, brush, or other vegetation.

If you observe a fire or have an emergency, call 911 immediately.

Camp Molly Orangeville 2026 has officially come to a close, and our hearts are full. ❤️🚒

As we reflect on an incredible week, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our amazing local partners and supporters. From keeping our campers hydrated, well-fed, and fueled with snacks, to providing shelter, cooling stations, equipment, and so much more, your generosity made all the difference.
