September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day is dedicated to honouring Residential School Survivors, their families, and communities, and to recognizing the lasting impacts of Canada's Residential School system.

In observance, Brighouse library will be open 10am-4pm for Indigenous short film screenings and family storytimes. All other locations will be closed.

Bill Arnott — bestselling travel writer and BC Book Prize winner — headlines Richmond Public Library's Writers for Readers 2026 on Saturday, October 3 at Brighouse library. Expect an interactive session on finding stories in your surroundings, the writing process, and pushing your creativity, plus a few laughs along the way.

Writers for Readers is almost here! ✨ Join us at Brighouse library on Saturday, October 3 for a day made for book lovers, aspiring authors, and everyone in between.

At 12pm, bestselling author Bill Arnott kicks it off with an interactive talk on creativity, craft and the writing journey. Then from 2 to 4pm, meet local authors across genres, from fiction to graphic novels to Chinese fiction. Say hi, ask about their books and find your next favourite read.
