Parks for All is the perfect program for anyone with limited mobility looking to enjoy the great outdoors in a lower impact way.

Starting on September 8th you can sit back and relax on our very comfortable golf cart while you enjoy the stunning sights of Mill Creek Nature Park. Catch a glimpse of the shining water, vibrant leaves, and so much more! ☀️

If you’ve attended a Town of Riverview event this summer, you may have noticed
this summer, the Town of Riverview has been putting an extra focus on Event Greening and finding practical ways to make our community events more environmentally friendly.

So, what exactly is Event Greening? 🤔

Event Greening is all about reducing the environmental impact of events. This can include reducing and properly sorting waste, preventing litter, encouraging sustainable transportation, and helping attendees make environmentally conscious choices all while keeping events fun and accessible! 💚

You may have spotted some of our Event Greening initiatives around town this summer:

♻️ Waste Stations: We’ve been providing clearly marked waste stations at events, complete with signage and access to sorting guides to make it easier to figure out what goes where.

🌎 Our Green Team: New this year, our Green Team attends events to help keep event spaces clean, pick up litter, correct items that may have accidentally ended up in the wrong waste stream, and answer any waste-sorting or Event Greening questions you may have.

🚲 Bike Valet: Our Bike Valet is back for its second year, giving eventgoers a convenient option to bike to participating events and safely park their bikes while they enjoy the festivities!

We’ve tried different ideas along the way, learned what works, and continued building on them. This summer, we feel like we’ve taken our biggest step forward yet! 🌎✨And we couldn’t have done it without you.

We’ve noticed a huge difference at our events this year, and that’s thanks to our amazing community taking the extra few seconds to check the sorting guide, use the correct waste stream, bike to an event, ask questions, and make more environmentally conscious choices. 💚

We’ve been tracking the impact of these efforts, including the emissions reduced through our Event Greening initiatives and we’ll be sharing the results soon!

Tonight’s Wards 1+2 Block Party has been moved indoors to the Riverview Coverdale Centre from 5:30–7:00 p.m.

You’re set for supper! 🌭 The Lions Club will be serving up a FREE BBQ, and you can still enjoy plenty of free family fun, including:
