Today we are remembering a Surrey Police Service member who died suddenly on August 23, 2026, while off duty. His loss is being felt deeply across SPS and his previous agency.

Over 33 years in policing, he dedicated himself to communities in the Lower Mainland. He will be remembered not only for his service, but for the way he treated people — with generosity, steadiness, and care. He was the kind of colleague and leader who looked out for his team and put others first.

This is an incredibly difficult time for his family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew him. At SPS, our focus is on supporting his loved ones, our members, and one another as we grieve.

If you are struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or seek support from available wellness and mental health resources.

Out of respect for his family and his memory, no further details will be shared.
