Since 1983, the Surrey Food Bank has been assisting low income individuals and families who live in Surrey and North Delta by primarily providing bi-weekly food hampers to supplement a client's food needs. All funding comes directly from the community as the food bank does not receive any core government funding. Operations are overseen by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers and supported by

an elected Board of Directors. The Surrey Food Bank respectfully acknowledges the shared, unceded traditional territory of the Katzie, Semiahmoo, Kwantlen and other Coast Salish Peoples on which we live and work.

📚 Back-to-school season brings new schedules, packed lunches, and busy mornings for many families. For thousands of local households, dependable food support remains an important part of that routine.

Each month, approximately 20,000 people use Surrey Food Bank services, and half are children.

As families navigate the school year, some of the most-needed food donations include:

🥫 Soup
🍝 Pasta Sauce
🥣 Oatmeal
🌱 Lentils
🍑 Canned Fruit
🥣 Cereal
🥜 Peanut Butter
🍚 Rice
🍝 Pasta
🥕 Canned Vegetables

The most helpful donations are unopened, unexpired, and in their original packaging.

As families prepare for the start of a new school year, many are facing added costs for school supplies, clothing, and activities while still struggling to put food on the table.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, we’d love to have you join our team. Volunteers help with loading and unloading deliveries, setup, distribution, and other warehouse support tasks that help us serve our community.
