As Fire Prevention week comes to a close, we remind residents to unplug your device once when it is fully charged. Leaving it plugged in longer than needed can increase heat and stress on the battery. For more info: fpw.org.

Please be advised: Canadian Pacific Kansas City Rail will close the Bradshaw Road (at Bobs Lake Road) crossing from 6:00 am Wednesday, October 7 until 6:00 am Friday, October 9 to complete track maintenance and repair work. Detours will be in place. Motorists heading northbound on Road 38 will experience a longer detour.

October 4 - 10 is Charge into Fire Safety, Fire Prevention Week. Charge on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or floor. Beds, couches, and pillows can trap heat and block airflow, which can cause a battery to overheat. For more info: fpw.org.

Reminder: Battersea Road will be closed from the Battersea Ball Park to Cross Street, and Wellington Street will be closed from Cross Street to Battersea Road today from 9:45 am to 10:45 am for the Battersea Pumpkin Festival parade.

Good news - the fire risk category in South Frontenac has been moved to low. There is no fire ban in place. As always, please be mindful when burning brush or having your campfire. Fires should always be monitored and be properly put out once you're done and head inside.

Battersea Road will be closed from the Battersea Ball Park to Cross Street, and Wellington Street will be closed from Cross Street to Battersea Road on October 3 from 9:45 am to 10:45 am for the Battersea Pumpkin Festival parade.

Reminder for your Monday morning commute: Moreland Dixon Road will be closed to all traffic at Collins Lake (approximately 1.5km East of Perth Road) starting tomorrow at 7:00 am. The culvert that connects Inverary Lake to Collins Lake will be replaced. The closure will last until Friday, October 2 at 7:00 pm.

Please be advised: Moreland Dixon Road will be closed to all traffic at Collins Lake (approximately 1.5km East of Perth Road) from Monday, September 28 starting at 7:00 am until Friday, October 2 at 7:00 pm.

This road closure is necessary to complete the replacement of a 2.4m (8 ft) diameter culvert that connects Inverary Lake to Collins Lake. Construction work at the creek crossing will be completed by Crains’ Construction Ltd. Detours will also be in place during the closure redirecting traffic southerly via Unity Road.
