10/20/2026

On Oct. 17, at approximately 5:55 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on the 500-block of Princeton Drive in Thompson.

Officers arrived and located a 39-year-old Thompson male who had been stabbed. RCMP tended to the male until paramedics arrived, at which point the victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP subsequently learned the victim and another male had gotten into an argument during a party, resulting in the suspect stabbing the victim.

The suspect fled before officers arrived but was later located at an Oak Street residence. He was arrested without incident.

Shaun Leslie, 42, of Thompson is charged with aggravated assault.

He was remanded into custody.

Thompson RCMP arrest female after report of impaired driver

On October 11, 2026, at 12:27 a.m., Thompson RCMP were notified about a possible impaired driver on Arctic Drive.

Officers responded to the scene where they located a vehicle idling in the driveway of a residence.

They could see a lone female in the driver’s seat, slumped over the steering wheel.

Officers had to knock on the window multiple times to get the female to wake up.

Once outside the vehicle, she was arrested for impaired driving.

Inside the vehicle, a package resembling co***ne was seen in plain view on the passenger seat.

A subsequent search of the vehicle was done, and police seized 25 grams of crack co***ne, along with Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia. A search warrant was also executed at the suspect’s residence.

Courtney Lane, 42, of Thompson has been charged with the following:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking
• Trafficking – co***ne
• Possession of property obtained by crime

She was remanded in custody until her court date.

Thompson RCMP arrest male after threatening neighbour with an axe

On October 8, 2026, just before 7 pm., Thompson RCMP received a report of a neighbour dispute involving a weapon on Laval Place.

Officers responded and learned a male had made threats to a female and her dog while she was outside her residence.

The male approached the female with an axe raised in a threatening manner and indicated he would harm the dog. The victim ran away and called police.

Officers were able to arrest the suspect without incident at his nearby residence and seized an axe.
A 21-year-old male faces the following charges:
• Assault with weapon
• Uttering threats to animals

He was later released on an Undertaking.

UPDATE - Thompson RCMP searching for missing 21-year-old female

The 21-year-old female from Thompson who was reported missing to RCMP on September 29, 2026, has been safely located.

Thompson RCMP arrest impaired driver asleep in vehicle

On September 27, 2026, at 2:30 a.m., Thompson RCMP received a noise complaint coming from somewhere on Elm Street.

Officers began patrols in that area and observed a stationary truck where the music was originating from.

Police approached the vehicle which was still running and noticed two males and two females inside. The male was slumped over the wheel, passed out.

Open alcohol was clearly observed inside the vehicle.

The 29-year-old driver was woken up and placed under arrest for operations while impaired and served notice of license suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.

The vehicle was impounded as none of the passengers were authorized to drive the vehicle.

Thompson RCMP investigating assault and robbery

On September 25, 2026, at 10:04 pm., Thompson RCMP received a report of an armed robbery and possible assault at a residence on Mitishto Bay.

Officers responded immediately locating a 36-year-old female sitting on the front porch with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police learned three male suspects wearing masks, arrived at the residence, two of which assaulted the victim with a knife. One of the suspects was known to the victim.

All three suspects then fled in her vehicle.

The victim was transported to hospital by EMS in stable condition.

Police began patrols for the vehicle and located it later that night abandoned at a residence on Cree Road. The suspects were not located.

Thompson RCMP have issued a Warrant of Arrest out for 39-year-old Donald Massan in relation to this incident, and is facing the following charges:
• Aggravated assault;
• Disguised with intent to commit offence;
• Robbery- with other offensive weapon; and
• Motor vehicle theft when violence used

Massan is described as 6’2” tall with a heavy build. He is still believed to be in the Thompson area.

The other two male suspect’s identities are unknown at this time.

RCMP are asking the public not to approach them but to report any information or sightings immediately to police. Thompson RCMP searching for missing 16-year-old male

On September 20, 2026, at 10:50 pm., Thompson RCMP received a report of a missing 16-year-old male from an address on Westwood Drive.

Dakota Spence was last seen earlier in the evening on that day. Since that time, no one has heard or seen him.

It is believed he may still be in the Thompson area or possibly travelled to Split Lake.

Spence is described as 5’6”, with a medium build and long brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and black runners.

Spence may also be using a different name.

Anyone with information on Spence’s whereabouts is asked to contact Thompson RCMP at 204-677-6909.

Thompson Rural RCMP make arrest after shots fired at residence

On September 23, 2026, at 2:02 pm., Thompson Rural RCMP were notified about a male that had discharged a fi***rm, striking a residence in the community of Brochet.

Officers learned the suspect was inside a residence, possibly with other individuals. The suspect was not reported to have shot at any other residences after the initial call and no injuries were reported.

At the scene police began call outs for anyone inside to exit the home. Two females exited the residence while the suspect remained inside.

Officers subsequently entered the home and located the suspect in a bedroom, where he was arrested.

A search of the property was conducted, and numerous fi***rms were located in a shed.

A 27-year-old male from Brochet, faces the following charges:
• Pointing a fi***rm;
• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose;
• Unauthorized possession of a fi***rm;
• Weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender x2; and
• Discharge fi***rm while being reckless.

Thompson Rural RCMP continue to investigate.

Thompson RCMP drug trafficking investigation leads to arrest

As a result of an ongoing investigation involving Thompson RCMP General Investigative Services (GIS) and Manitoba RCMP North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST), Controlled Drugs and Substance Act warrants were executed at three separate residences in Thompson.

On September 17, 2026, GIS and CREST officers executed warrants at Deerwood Crescent, Pipe Road, and Sandpiper Drive. They were assisted by Thompson RCMP Crime Suppression Unit and The Pas RCMP Police Dog Services.

Inside the homes, officers located and seized:
• A large quantity of suspected co***ne
• Over $9,000 in Canadian currency

Alexis Halvorsen, 37, was arrested without incident Inside the residence on Sandpiper Drive.
She was remanded and was charged with the following:
• Trafficking;
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking; and
• Possession of property obtained by crime

Items seized are still being processed by Manitoba RCMP and the exact quantity of illicit drugs has not yet been determined.

Thompson RCMP GIS and CREST continue to investigate.
