Thorhild County Public Works Department is hiring a permanent, full-time Heavy Equipment Technician. This position involves diagnosing and repairing equipment, assisting with various duties, and participating in an on-call rotation. A Journeyperson certification is preferred, but a 3rd-year apprentice will also be considered. If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply by noon on July 9, 2026.

A temporary lane closure is in effect on Opal Highway between TWP RD 584 and TWP RD 582 due to a road shoulder washout.

Crews are currently working in the area to complete repairs. Please use caution when traveling through the work zone and follow all posted signage and directions from flaggers, who will be on site to assist with traffic control.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to restore the roadway and reopen all lanes as quickly and safely as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
