Thorhild County would like to welcome all students, teachers, staff and families back for another school year! We hope everyone had a wonderful, fun and safe summer filled with great memories. ☀️

As students head back to the classroom, we’d also like to remind drivers to use extra caution on our roads. A little extra patience and attention can go a long way in keeping our students safe.

🎒🚌 Back to School Safety Reminder! 🚌🎒

As students head back to school, our roads, school zones, and parking lots are getting busier. Please remember to slow down, stay alert, and help keep our children safe. 💛

🚸 Follow the posted speed limits in school zones.

🚌 All vehicles must stop and remain stopped when school bus lights are flashing.

👀 Always watch for children crossing roads and be prepared to slow down or stop.

📵 Put distractions away while driving and stay alert to your surroundings.

🚗 Use extra caution in school parking lots and when backing out of parking stalls.

A few extra moments of patience and attention can make all the difference. Let’s work together to help everyone have a safe and happy start to the school year! 📚✏️

Looking for a fun day out? Thorhild County has some great bus excursions planned for September! 🍂🛍

* September 1 – Shopping Trip to Redwater
Enjoy a half-day shopping trip with FREE transportation!

* September 10 – Londonderry Mall/Fort Road Casino
Spend the day shopping, trying your luck, or enjoying a little of both!

* September 15 – Canadian Tractor Museum & Shopping in Westlock
Explore the Canadian Tractor Museum and enjoy some shopping in Westlock. Please note there is an additional $15 museum entry fee per person.

* September 25 – Bountiful Farmers’ Market in Edmonton
Browse, shop and enjoy everything the Bountiful Farmers’ Market has to offer!

Cost:
County Residents: $20 + GST
Non-County Residents: $30 + GST
All adults 18+ are welcome!

Pre-registration is required no later than the day before each excursion.

Please be advised that Range Road 225, south of Township Road 584, will be closed due to a centre line culvert installation.
