Before you apply, there’s an important first step: the OACP Certificate.

The OACP Certificate is a mandatory pre-application requirement for TPS Police Constable applicants - you must obtain your certificate before submitting your application to TPS.

The certificate process includes Part A, Part B and Part C, with assessments designed to help prepare candidates for the police recruitment process.

Join the Toronto Police Service as a Stable Attendant and play an important role in supporting the Mounted Unit and the care of our police mounts!

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the daily care, feeding, grooming, and basic health monitoring of the horses, while also ensuring the stable facility is clean, safe, secure, and operating efficiently. You’ll work closely with uniformed members, veterinarians, farriers, vendors, and community members to help maintain the high standards required for the Mounted Unit’s operations.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who is confident working with large animals, takes pride in maintaining a well-organized facility, and enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

If you’re passionate about horse care, have strong organizational skills, and want to contribute to a unique and valued area of policing, this opportunity is for you.
