What an incredible day for our Burrows community! Huron Childcare Inc. officially cut the ribbon on their brand‑new centre, Mountain Avenue Child Care, bringing 130 new child care spaces to families in Burrows. A huge step forward for local families and a bright start for the little ones who will learn and grow here! 🌟📚✏️

Tonight, it was a pleasure to join the Manitoba Teachers’ Society Gala and celebrate the incredible educators who shape the future of our province every single day.

Strong public education depends on strong teachers, and strong voices. The Manitoba Teachers’ Society plays a vital role in advocating for educators, protecting public education, and ensuring the people we trust with our kids have the respect and support they need to support our kids.🍎✨

This week is Treaty Week in Manitoba, a time to honour the history, relationships, and responsibilities that shape our province.

Among this week’s highlights is Theo Osborne, an awesome Grade 6 student and gifted grass dancer whose leadership and cultural pride remind us what the next generation carries, and the value of Treaty Education for all.

This morning, I joined G7 education ministers virtually for an important conversation hosted by France on protecting youth from online harm. Manitoba had much to share about our leading role on this issue within Canada, and Canada’s leading role amongst our G7 partners.

As social media and A.I. chatbots continue to shape the world our young people are growing up in, it’s important to recognize that every day, it’s Manitoba teachers that are helping students build the critical thinking skills they need to navigate online spaces safely — understanding the risks, asking questions, spotting misinformation, and learning how to protect their wellbeing.

Education has a vital role to play in helping young people make sense of a rapidly changing digital world. I’m grateful to our teachers for the care, knowledge, and leadership they bring to this work every single day.

Protecting kids online takes all of us — families, educators, governments, and communities working together, for our kids, for One Manitoba.
