从种子到餐桌——零基础家庭园艺项目启动 (From Seed to Table: Beginner Home Gardening Project Launch)
7月20日晚，华协（WCSA）主办的“从种子到餐桌：零基础家庭园艺讲座 (From Seed to Table: Beginner Home Gardening Seminar)”，启动了“华协新手家庭种植项目 (WCSA Beginner Home Gardening Project)”。共有25位朋友齐聚一堂，在轻松愉快的氛围中开启了家庭种植的探索之旅。

本次讲座由华协园艺俱乐部群主 Yan Cong 主讲。讲座不仅分享了多年积攒的实用经验，更传递了一种理念：真实的园艺充满变数，但看到微小的种子破土而出，变成餐桌上的安心美食，这种创造生命的成就感是超市里买不到的。我们不仅是在种菜，更是在收获身心健康，结交社区中热爱生活、内心柔软的知心挚友。

本项目获得温尼伯市政府专项资金 (City of Winnipeg Community Grants) 以及加拿大联邦政府长者项目 (New Horizons for Seniors Program, NHSP) 的支持，共同推动社区的本地食物保障 (Local Food Security)，丰富大家的业余生活。因项目位置有限，本次讲座义工优先报名。

8月份，园艺俱乐部将组织实地导览活动，前往The Leaf的厨房花园 (The Leaf Kitchen Garden) 参观交流；9月份，我们还将举办面向公众的“种子收集与食物保存进阶讲座 (Advanced Seminar on Seed Saving and Food Preservation)”，教大家在丰收季节收集优质种子并分享处理多余蔬菜的实用技巧。

近200名义工欢聚一堂，共庆 Bridgwater Canada Day Celebration 圆满成功

7月12日，华协举行 2026 Bridgwater Canada Day Celebration volunteers appreciation义工答谢会，近200名参与7月1日活动的义工齐聚一堂，共同分享活动成功的喜悦。

今年加拿大日庆典吸引了上万名居民到场，共庆加拿大国庆、感受多元文化。活动的圆满举办，离不开每一位义工在筹备、舞台、秩序、儿童活动、商家服务等岗位上的辛勤付出。正是大家默默奉献，成就了这场社区盛会。

答谢会上，每位义工都获颁由联邦国会议员 Terry Duguid、省议员 David Pankratz 和市议员 Janice Lukes 联合签署的义工感谢证书。刘会长向全体义工表达诚挚谢意，并回顾了 Bridgwater Canada Day Celebration 五年来的发展历程，感谢义工们一路同行、共同见证活动不断成长。

MLA David Pankratz 及市议员 Janice Lukes 也亲临现场，与义工们亲切交流并合影留念。协会还准备了 iPad、空气炸锅、榨汁机等幸运抽奖礼品。热心支持社区公益的生活宝&出国宝 特别赞助了 Apple Watch、拍立得相机、礼品卡等大奖，为答谢会增添了更多惊喜与欢乐。

2026 Celebration Recap
Over 10,000 Residents Came Together to Celebrate Canada Day

The 5th Annual Bridgwater Canada Day Celebration brought together more than 10,000 residents and visitors on July 1, 2026, making it one of Winnipeg’s largest community Canada Day celebrations.

The celebration opened with energetic dragon and lion dances, followed by multicultural performances featuring artists from Chinese, Peruvian, Indian, Ghanaian, and many other communities. Ballet, traditional drumming, martial arts, choir performances, youth bands, Tai Chi, and cultural dance showcased the diversity that makes Canada unique.

At 12:00 noon, thousands of attendees joined together to sing O Canada, followed by the signature Canada Day Community Drumming, creating one of the day’s most memorable moments.

Beyond the stage, families enjoyed a full day of free activities. More than 200 children received face painting, over 400 children played in the bouncy castles, and hundreds participated in games, balloon twisting, the petting zoo, and interactive sponsor activities. The popular Stamp & Win Challenge encouraged visitors to explore community booths before the grand prize draw.

The event also featured food and bazaar tables, community booths, local businesses, and cultural exhibitors, creating opportunities for residents to connect while supporting local partners.

More than 200 volunteers helped make the celebration possible. Together they operated a free shuttle service with over 60 trips, distributed nearly 4,000 Canadian flags, and kept the venue clean throughout the day by collecting more than 80 bags of waste.

Now in its fifth year, the Bridgwater Canada Day Celebration has grown into one of Winnipeg’s most recognized community Canada Day events—bringing together government, businesses, community organizations, volunteers, and thousands of residents to celebrate diversity, friendship, and Canadian pride.

🎉 The 5th Annual Bridgwater Canada Day Celebration is Here!

On July 1st, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the outdoor grounds around the Bridgwater Lakes Fountain (133 Bridge Lake Drive) will be fully open! No registration is required—just drop by and join the fun!

1. An Amazing Lineup of Activities!
We have it all: multicultural singing and dancing, bouncy castles, face painting, balloon twisting, a petting zoo, a balloon wall, and a lucky draw! There will also be free cake, market booths, food trucks, and drink stands, with the fountain running all day long. The WCSA President will lead the kids in singing O Canada, followed by a massive community drum circle right at 12:00 PM! To top it off, dragon dances and children’s dragon and lion dances will bring the energy to the next level.

2. A Massive Neighbourhood Block Party!
Take a stroll and you’re bound to bump into neighbours for a chat. Families of all different backgrounds and cultures coming together to celebrate Canada Day—you have to be there in person to truly feel the bustling, joyful atmosphere!

3. Special Greetings from Provincial and Municipal VIPs
Several important provincial and municipal guests will be on-site to share their holiday greetings. Last year, many folks took photos with the Premier and the Mayor (which are still up on the WCSA website!), and who knows—you might capture some brand-new memories this year!

4. Vendor Activities and Endless Surprises!
A huge thank you to IDO Media for their tremendous support; they will be giving away 300 free commemorative 2026 World Cup $1 coins! Many other vendors have also prepared engaging activities, with plenty of mini-games, free water, and small giveaways to go around.

5. Stress-Free Parking!
The WCSA has arranged for a free 54-passenger shuttle bus running on a continuous loop from Bridgwater Centre to the event site (10:00 AM — 4:00 PM). Service starts an hour before the event and ends an hour after. Feel free to park near the shopping centre and take the easy ride over. We are also providing a free bicycle valet service on-site!

6. Four Lucky Grand Prizes!
Participate in the vendor interactive activities for a chance to win one of four grand prizes provided by the WCSA. The draw happens at exactly 3:00 PM, and you must be present to win.

7. Evening Fireworks!
From 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, we’re moving the party over to Bison Run School (60 Frontiers Trail) for fireworks! Enjoy music, food, and a spectacular fireworks display to cap off a Canada Day celebration that has been six months in the making.

The Bridgwater Canada Day Celebration is all set, with over 200 volunteers ready and waiting. You don’t need to worry about a thing—just bring your family, your friends, and your phone, and come soak up the festive cheer!

This event is a Canada Day celebration for all community residents. It does not involve any political views, does not permit any election campaigning, and does not display any religious beliefs. This is both a commitment we have made to the government and a shared principle we must all uphold.

🎉 第5届 Bridgwater Canada Day Celebration 来啦！

7月1日当天，上午11点到下午3点，Bridgwater Lakes Fountain，133 Bridge Lake Drive，周边户外场地全面开放，不用报名，直接来玩！

1、精彩活动全安排上！
多民族歌舞表演、充气城堡、趣味画脸、扭气球、小动物园、气球墙、幸运抽奖，一个都不少！现场还有免费蛋糕、小商品摊、食品车、饮料店，喷泉全天开放。华协会长将和现场孩子们一起领唱加拿大国歌，中午12点准时全场打鼓！舞龙和儿童舞龙舞狮表演，更会把现场气氛直接拉满！

2、这里也是邻里聚会的大派对！
随便走走，就可能遇到熟悉的邻居聊上几句；不同族裔、不同文化的家庭一起庆祝加拿大国庆，这种热闹和欢乐，只有到了现场才能真正感受到。

3、多位省、市级重要嘉宾将亲临现场送上节日祝福。
去年不少朋友和省长、市长的合影，至今还保留在华协网站上，今年说不定还能再留下新的珍贵回忆！

4、商家互动，惊喜不断！
感谢亿度传媒 IDO Media 鼎力支持，现场将免费送出300枚2026世界杯1元纪念币！很多商家还准备了丰富的互动活动，小游戏、免费水和小礼品赠送比比皆是。

5、停车不用愁！
华协特别安排了54座循环大巴（10:00am—4:00pm），从 Bridgwater Centre 直达活动现场，活动前一小时开始，活动后一小时截止，免费。大家可以把车停在商场附近，再轻轻松松坐车过来。另外，现场还提供免费自行车代泊服务。

6、华协还准备了4份幸运大奖！
只要参与商家互动，就有机会中奖，下午3点准时开奖！只有在现场的人，才可以领到奖品。

7、晚上7点到10点，我们再转场到 Bison Run School（60 Frontiers Trail）观看烟花！
现场有音乐、美食，最后用绚丽的烟花，为这场筹备了半年的国庆盛会画上圆满的句号。

Bridgwater Canada Day Celebration 已经安排得妥妥当当，200多位义工严阵以待。大家什么都不用操心，只管带上家人、朋友、手机，一起来凑这份热热闹闹的节日喜气！

Update: This has been upgraded to a flood warning.

The Manitoba Hydrologic Forecast Centre advises that a precipitation system is expected to move through Manitoba from June 27 to 30, bringing significant rainfall to portions of western, central, and northwestern Manitoba, including the Parkland and Interlake regions. The areas of western Manitoba, including the Parkland Region, and northwestern Manitoba may receive 60 to 80 mm of precipitation between June 27 and 30.

Most other parts of southern, southwestern, and central Manitoba, including the Interlake Region could receive between 40 and 60 mm of precipitation during this period.
