We support Manitobans who are experiencing homelessness, poverty, and mental health challenges. A connecting point between the compassionate and Winnipeg’s less fortunate, Siloam Mission is a Christian humanitarian organization that alleviates hardships and provides opportunities for change for those affected by homelessness.

Tomorrow's the day! We're so looking forward to welcoming you to Siloam Mission for our Truth and Reconciliation gathering. ❤️

Together, we'll take part in ceremony, drumming and dancing, smudging, and a traditional feast. Orange shirts and resources will be available too. It's a chance to honour Indigenous Peoples and Survivors, to learn and reflect side by side, and to keep strengthening Siloam's commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey, and we're grateful for every opportunity to listen, learn, and build respectful relationships within our community.

You did it, Winnipeg! 🧡

This summer, you showed up — and you showed up big. When you headed out to a Goldeyes game, so many of you brought more than your cheers. You brought gifts that will make a real difference in the lives of our neighbours: 658 pairs of gently used shoes, collected through the Quarks Cares Footwear Collection Program.

For someone experiencing homelessness, a good, comfortable pair of shoes isn't a small thing. Many of our neighbours walk countless miles every single day just to access food, shelter, healthcare, and other basic necessities. A pair of shoes that fits well and holds up can make all the difference in getting through the day with a little more dignity and a little less pain.

Thank you to Quarks, Rieker, Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball Club, and to every single person who dropped off a pair. You turned shoes sitting in a closet into something that will carry someone through their day.

Thank you, Winnipeg. Let's keep the good going.

Join us for A Day of Truth, Reflection, and Reconciliation at Siloam Mission

On September 29th, we welcome you for a day of learning, culture, and community. The day will include a sacred fire, meaningful speeches, cultural performances, orange shirts, and a community meal.

Come honour truth, walk toward understanding, and take steps toward reconciliation — together.

Before Brent cared for community members at Siloam Mission, he knew what it was like to need care himself.

Brent has lived through addiction and homelessness. Through recovery, he rebuilt his life, earned his nursing degree and returned to the place where his connection to community first began.

“I wanted more than anything to come back to Siloam,” Brent says. “This time, I wanted to be on the other side of the table.”

Today, Brent works as a registered nurse and volunteers each month at Siloam’s Saul Sair Health Centre. His lived experience helps him connect with people who may feel judged or misunderstood, offering care grounded in dignity, trust and compassion.

For Brent, every shift is a reminder of how far he has come and a chance to help someone else take their next step. Sometimes, a conversation, a kind word or simply feeling seen can make a lasting difference. ❤️

What does reconciliation look like in action?

Last week, we came together for The Gathering, Siloam Mission’s fourth annual Truth & Reconciliation Gathering. It was a meaningful day filled with listening, learning, reflection and honest conversations.

Together, we explored what reconciliation means for Indigenous people experiencing homelessness and how organizations can provide culturally safe, respectful, and compassionate support.

Elder Mae Louise Campbell shared powerful teachings about the importance of Indigenous-led, land-based healing. Our Siloam Mission panel reflected on the organization’s beginnings, its Christian faith and how we continue to lean into the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.

Joyce Odidison shared insights on building resilience during challenging times, while Michael Redhead Champagne invited us to consider what reconciliation looks like in practice and helped us better understand equity and equality.

The Gathering may have ended, but the learning and conversations continue. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so meaningful. ❤️

This Thankful Thursday, we’re grateful to the organizers and runners of Sunday’s Manitoba Marathon race for making sure good food did not go to waste! ❤️

The team donated their surplus bananas, Gunn’s cinnamon buns and individual cartons chocolate milk to Siloam Mission after the race.

Monday morning’s breakfast at Siloam tasted extra special for our guests.

Did you know Siloam volunteers prep and serve more than 1,500 meals every day, 365 days a year?

A key may open the door, but the road to housing begins long before move-in day and continues well after. ❤️

For our neighbours experiencing homelessness, finding a home can take weeks or even months. Throughout that journey, Siloam Mission staff walk alongside them, helping navigate barriers, build practical skills and create the connections needed to feel at home in a new community.

For those who have recently experienced homelessness, responding quickly can prevent a difficult situation from becoming a longer-term challenge. Through Rapid Rehousing and ongoing housing supports, we walk alongside community members as they work toward finding stable homes.
