The Government of Canada has announced new funding to increase Francophone immigration to Manitoba.
The project aims to increase Manitoba's Francophone population through measures that streamline the immigration process for Francophone or bilingual candidates suited to the province's labour market needs. It includes activities to promote Manitoba's Francophone and bilingual communities abroad, digital tools to improve the immigration and labour market integration process, and support for the recognition of credentials for French-speaking health professionals trained abroad.
The project is being implemented jointly with the Economic Development Council for Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities, and the amount allocated is 1,300,000 dollars over two years.
For French-speaking and bilingual candidates considering Manitoba, this represents an expanding set of resources and support.
