AStA Kids’ Festival on August 28, 2026, starting at 3:00 p.m. in the AStA garden (Goßlerstraße 16a). With cotton candy, bouncy castle, face painting and games.

Summer, fun, and games! There’s something for everyone!

Have you always wanted to be a lion or a dragon? Then let the face-painting station transform you!

Find out who can jump the farthest on our bouncy castle.

There will also be stations for playing and crafting. Collect stamps while fishing for ducks or making little boats and win a small prize. Drinks and snacks will also be provided.

We look forward to seeing you all!!

Gemeinsam wollen wir ganz ungezwungen einen Abend lang einen Raum gestalten, in dem ihr die Referent*innen seid und teilen könnt, welches Thema euren Unialltag aktuell begleitet. Für ein Gefühl von Gemeinsamkeit, bei einer sonst eher eigenständigen, isolierten Arbeit.

Are you up for a relaxing evening of games, good conversation, and meeting new people? Then come to our game night at AStA Göttingen! We’ll meet on August 08 at 6 p.m. in the meeting room on the second floor. If the weather’s nice, we can gather in the garden.

You have the right to vote in the local elections, if you...

- are an EU Citizen.

- registered residence in Göttingen.

- are at least 16 years old.

What will be voted on?

5 elections on September 13th -
the most important being the city council and mayor.

Why should I vote?

The city council makes decisions that affect your daily life. Among them are matters of public transport, affordable housing, bike lanes and cultural experiences.

Additionally, right-wing extremist parties have tried to use local elections to establish themselves. Your vote can counteract this!

How it works:

With your city registration you are also automatically registered to vote.

Have you already applied for BAföG?
If not, here's some information!

First things first:

- You can apply for BAföG entirely online at www.bafoeg-digital.de or via the BAföG-digital app, or you can pick up and submit paper applications at your Studiwerk office (3rd floor of the Z-Mensa building)

- Submit your initial application and renewal applications as early as possible (ideally 4 months before your funding ends)

- International students may also be eligible for financial aid under certain conditions (it’s best to check with Studiwerk directly for more information)

Services offered by the AStA and Studiwerk:

- If you have questions or problems regarding financing your studies, you can always contact our Social Affairs Office

- For specific questions about BAföG, it’s best to contact Studiwerk directly. The Studiwerk website features a comprehensive FAQ section and allows you to book personal counseling appointments

NDR Investigation into the Impact of Pension Reform on Students with Part-Time Jobs

The NDR (Norddeutscher Rundfunk) is looking for students from Göttingen who are absolutely dependent on a part-time job and who could face—or are already facing—financial difficulties due to deductions of approximately €120, and who are willing to be interviewed about this.
(To be broadcast on radio and possibly on television)

The Student Representation for Students with Disabilities (VfSB) advocates for the interests of students with disabilities, chronic illnesses, neurodiversity (e.g., ADHD, autism…), and mental health conditions at the University of Göttingen. We’re a diverse group from all faculties, but unfortunately, we also have a high turnover rate, which makes it difficult for us to fulfill our mission.
