Polish design made a strong impression at this year’s 3daysofdesign in 🇩🇰 Copenhagen! ✨

Held under the title "Honest Craftsmanship - The Impact of Polish Heartbeat", the exhibition brought together an inspiring selection of contemporary 🇵🇱 design, applied arts and craftsmanship ­– from furniture and lighting to textiles, decorative objects and innovative materials. 🪑

Created by Polish designers and brands and manufactured in Poland, the works reflected authenticity, skilled craftsmanship, respect for materials and a distinctive creative identity. At the same time, the exhibition highlighted the values shared by Polish and Danish design: simplicity, functionality, quality and sensitivity to form. 🛋️

The exhibition, showing Poland as a modern, creative country with its own confident voice in European design, was organised by Norma Design Agency with the support of the Embassy of Poland in Denmark, Polska institutet Stockholm and Embassy of Denmark in Poland.

The 2026 edition of Folkemødet – one of Denmark’s most distinctive and engaging civic festivals – concluded last week. Over a few days, the town of Allinge on Bornholm 🇩🇰 once again became a vibrant hub for public debate, bringing together thousands of participants from across politics, business, academia and civil society.

Head of Mission Ewa Dębska also took part in events in Allinge, contributing to several discussions focused on the future of the European Union 🇪🇺 and its place in a rapidly changing world. The debates explored the EU’s geopolitical positioning as well as key challenges such as energy security and resilience.

We are pleased that, once again, the 🇵🇱 perspective and insights on current developments were present at Folkemødet, contributing to an open and forward-looking exchange of views on issues of shared importance.

Delighted to introduce the upcoming exhibition “Honest Craftsmanship – The Impact of Polish Heartbeat”, presented during 3daysofdesign 2026 in Copenhagen! ✨

This project will be one of the most extensive showcases of contemporary 🇵🇱 design and craftsmanship ever presented in Scandinavia.

Hosted in the beautiful, historic Dehn Mansion, the exhibition will feature 18 Polish artists, designers and brands working at the intersection of design, art and modern craftsmanship. Their works explore the connection between material, process and emotion – offering a rich and diverse experience, from furniture and lighting to textiles, glass, painting and collectible design.

Through this project, we aim to highlight what defines today’s Polish design culture – authenticity, quality and sensitivity – while presenting a fresh, thoughtful perspective on contemporary craftsmanship.

Beyond the excitement of Saturday’s Champions League final and the widely discussed return of Wisła Kraków to Ekstraklasa, last week brought another football highlight – the 19th Baltic Cup Football Tournament! ⚽️

For over 20 years, this unique event has brought together teams from the Baltic region, represented by diplomats and foreign ministry officials.

This year, the victory went to the team of 🇵🇱 Ministerstwo Spraw Zagranicznych! Huge congratulations! 🏆

And a big thank you to our hosts and runners-up from 🇩🇰 Udenrigsministeriet, as well as to all our colleagues from 🇱🇹🇪🇪🇫🇮 who took part in this year’s tournament! 👏

This past weekend marked the beginning of the Jødisk Kulturfestival, and Copenhagen has already come alive with music, stories, and the warm energy of people coming together. ✨

Over the next few days – through 7 June – the festival offers plenty of moments worth experiencing: concerts, talks, workshops, and encounters that truly showcase how rich, vibrant, and diverse Jewish culture is. If you’re looking for something inspiring to do this week, this is definitely the place to be.

Last week in Gdynia and Sopot, the ministerial meeting of the Council of the Baltic Sea States took place, where Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski hosted representatives from 🇩🇰 🇪🇪 🇫🇮 🇩🇪 🇮🇸 🇱🇻 🇱🇹 🇳🇴 🇸🇪 and 🇪🇺.

The discussions placed strong emphasis on security challenges in the Baltic Sea region, including hybrid threats, acts of sabotage, and broader destabilizing activities. Participants also exchanged views on strengthening regional cooperation and resilience in response to the evolving security environment.

💬 “Following Sweden and Finland’s accession to the Alliance, the Baltic Sea – in terms of coastline – has become 93% a NATO sea. However, this does not mean that it is free from serious security challenges. We are dealing with a shadow fleet, as well as the mapping and damaging of critical infrastructure,” the Minister Sikorski noted.

Building on these discussions and shared concerns, TTX ORKAN 26 exercises were held in the Baltic Sea under the auspices of the Polish Presidency. Representatives of CBSS member states worked on a coordinated response to threats related to the shadow fleet, infrastructure sabotage, and disinformation in the Baltic Sea region.

Last week’s meeting marked the final political event of the Polish Presidency. As of 1 July, Iceland will take over the rotating chairmanship of the CBSS. 🌊

If this news somehow passed you by, we’re happy to share that this year’s recipients of the Honorary Award of the Danish Translators’ Association are Judyta Preis and Jørgen Herman Monrad. 👏

This is one of the most important distinctions in the 🇩🇰 translation community, awarded for translations that make an outstanding contribution to Danish literature. The jury highlighted the laureates’ many years of consistent, highly skilled work, through which key works of Central and Eastern European literature have become accessible to Danish readers.

The duo has translated numerous 🇵🇱 authors, including Olga Tokarczuk, Bruno Schulz, and Tadeusz Borowski. During the ceremony, it was emphasized that for them translation is more than just a profession – it is a true act of love for literature and a way of building bridges between cultures.

Today, Head of Mission Ewa Dębska together with Mayor Christopher Røhl, had the pleasure of seeing off participants of a unique international cycling journey to Gdańsk, departing from Copenhagen City Hall. 🚴‍♀️

This journey from Denmark to Poland marks the symbolic launch of a new cycling tourism offer developed within the Baltic Biking UPGRADE project, aimed at making cross-border cycling in the Baltic Sea region more accessible and effortless.

A great example of strong cooperation between Poland, Denmark and partners across the region. 🇵🇱🇩🇰

Wishing all participants an inspiring ride along the EuroVelo 10 route and many enriching encounters along the way! 🚲
