2027 BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPORT
$200 assistance per eligible student for the 2027 school year.

𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋 𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐌𝐄
The Honourable Aseri Radrodro, Minister for Education, today launched the 2027 Back to School Support Programme, which provides $200 per eligible student to assist families with school-related expenses for the 2027 school year.
The programme is open to eligible students enrolled in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Primary and Secondary schools, including government, non-government schools, private schools and Special Inclusive Schools. Families must have a combined gross annual income of $50,000 or less to qualify.
𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓
- Eligible students must be enrolled from ECE to Year 13 for the 2027 school year.
- Students completing Year 13 in 2026 and transitioning out of secondary school are not eligible.
- Each eligible student will receive $200 in assistance.
𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
- Families with children from ECE to Year 13 who currently receive subsidised transport assistance may confirm their details on the application form without separate income verification.
- Eligible families who do not receive subsidised transport assistance must verify their income through a Statutory Declaration.
- Heads of Schools may verify the income of parents and guardians and apply the school stamp as proof of verification, providing an alternative to obtaining verification from a Justice of the Peace (JP)

Parents and guardians must complete one application form for each eligible child and submit it to the respective Head of School before 27 November 2026.
No Filled in Application Forms will be accepted at Education Headquarters and there will be no acceptance of late forms.
The Minister has stressed that there will be no extension to the application deadline.
There will be no extension to the application deadline of 27 November 2026. I urge all parents and guardians to submit their applications on time, ensure that all information provided is accurate, and pay particular attention to their mobile phone numbers to avoid any issues with payment.
Heads of Schools are responsible for checking applications with Year Teachers, ensuring the information provided is accurate and entering application details into FEMIS before the deadline.
Private schools without access to FEMIS must contact their District Office for the required data spreadsheet. District Offices will verify the information and forward the spreadsheets to the ICT Team for processing.
The Ministry will not accept manual applications at its Headquarters. All applications must be processed through FEMIS by the closing date.

- Provide a correct and active mobile phone number to avoid potential payment issues.
- Applicants without a mobile phone number must provide the correct details of their nearest Post Office for payment collection.
- Check all student and applicant details before submitting the form.
- Ensure all applicable income verification documents are provided.
- Submit applications early to allow sufficient time for verification and processing.
