We all know that Congleton has a White Lion and a Lion & Swan. But how many other lions were there in the town in years gone by? What colours were they, where were they and why aren’t they around anymore? Would you like to find out the answers to these questions – and indeed what other animals may have been present in Congleton’s pub names (yes, there were bears!)?

Join our History Walk looking at Congleton’s Pubs on Sunday 20th September from 2pm, starting at the Museum. £10 (£7 for members), with tea and scones back at the Museum afterwards.
