Thank you to everyone that came down for our book sale and launch of the Free Little Library. The library is now open! Take a book and leave a book you no longer need for others to enjoy. Thanks to our friends at The Birdhouse for partnering with us on this community project. You will find the free little library in the entrance to Pinces Gardens at the Birdhouse Cafe.

Tomorrow come along and see our brilliant Friends group.
These people are responsible for funding so many things at the Library - Breakfast Club, the children's rug, new kinder boxes, craft supplies, Bounce & Rhyme instruments and so many other things!
We could not provide such a great service without them!
So now we can support them by going along and supporting their book sale - and perhaps having a snack in the wonderful Birdhouse cafe!

PLEASE SHARE: How fabulous is our brand new Free Little Library created in collaboration with our good friends at The Birdhouse? Pop along on Saturday for the official launch while enjoying a coffee and food from the cafe. We will also be running our fundraising bargain book sale - 50p each or 3 for £1 - and Liz will be selling her beautiful hand made gloves. Look forward to seeing you there 📚

Creative writing for kids
Thursday 28th May 2026 10:30AM

Join us for 75 mins of great games and fun exercises to get you making stories, writing & sharing. Led by local artists Alison Sweatman and Simon Belshaw.

This session is themed around The Faraway Tree, and so (of course) we'll be creating crazy characters, imagining new lands, and playing around with language to make our own stories and poems come to life

A fun and hands-on session that's open to all, especially if you don't normally like to write. Also - in this session, you'll have the chance to be part of an audio installation we're creating in the Library (if you like)

For ages 6 - 11, places are free, please book 1 ticket for each child attending. Grown-ups should ideally stay for the session and join in.

Supported using public funding by Arts Council England

It is bookable (free) through ticket source:
